The 2008 AIChE Energy Prize
The AIChE Energy Prize Committee is pleased to announce the 2008 Student Paper Award Competition. The Energy Prize Student Paper Award will be presented to undergraduate student members of AIChE who submit outstanding papers of 10 pages or less on the following topic:
Local solutions offer major contributions to solving the nation's’energy dilemma. Consider one state or metropolitan area and examine the situation now to recommend opportunities for improving the energy equation over the next 10 years.
Honorable mention papers will also be selected. The winner will be announced by September 1, 2008.

The winner must be present at the AIChE Annual Meeting to present the paper and receive the award. Honorable mention papers will receive a reduced honorarium. The number of awards and honorable mentions will depend on the number of submissions.
Papers should be a maximum of 10 pages, single spaced with minimum 12 point font size. Papers are not restricted to research topics and may include design case studies and reviews.
All papers must describe the student’s own original contribution while an undergraduate. Referencing of information sources including documents, internet sites, on campus colleagues and outside consultants is mandatory.
Entrants must be undergraduate students of good standing in an accredited chemical engineering college program and must be AIChE student members (FREE - Join Now ).

A letter of reference from the chemical engineering department
- The paper in WORD or PDF format
Committee membership includes both industry and academia among those who will be judging the papers submitted.
