"NorCal AIChE periodically honors one of its members with the Professional Progress Award (PPA). Created in 1982, it is the highest tribute so given by NorCal in recognition of service to the Section, to our profession and for personal career achievement. This year, Ignacio Martinez has been selected to receive this honor by receiving a Plaque of recognition for this award.
The meeting we will also recognize the past two NorCal AIChE Chairs by presenting them with Plaques of Recognition. These past two NorCal AIChE Chairs are: Dr. Dilek Alkaya for 2014-2015 and Mohammad Bazargani for 2015-2016."

Topic of his presentation: Ubuntu and AIChE
Ignacio Martinez has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, from Georgia Institute of Technology. He has over 40 years’ experience in consumer products R&D and engineering management. Seven years at P&G International as a process development and package development engineer. He has over 23 years at The Clorox Company in process development management working on many of the company’s product lines, including bleaches, household cleaners, salad dressings and grill products. He has also 10 years working as an engineering consultant designing manufacturing processes for novel and unique laundry detergent products and bleaches. He is a co-owner and co-founder of two entrepreneurial start-ups involved in manufacture and sales of high-end movie prop replicas (Master Replicas, Inc.) and Spanish wines and olive oils import (Espana Foods, Inc.).
