The AIChE Foundation Board of Trustees is organized into five smaller committees overseen by the AIChE Foundation Executive Committee. Each committee is volunteer-driven, and focused on types of gifts.
- Annual Gifts Committee
- Major Gifts Committee
- Principal Gifts Committee
- Corporate Gifts Committee
- Planned Gifts Committee
- Grants Committee
This committee’s purpose is to increase annual funding through personal contact and improved communications with loyal donors and new prospects. It will identify existing and potential donors through direct mail, online fundraising, prospecting, personalized cultivation and solicitations. The focus of this committee will be on increasing annual giving numbers, through gifts of any amount, that are designated toward funding priorities that support the mission of AIChE. This committee works with other AIChE Foundation committee members and staff on annual appeals and other program specific campaigns.
This committee’s purpose is to increase major donor funding by cultivating relationships with donors and prospects through personal contact, written correspondence, phone and special events. It identifies and reviews major gift solicitation opportunities to the AIChE Foundation and presents any conflicts to the AIChE Board of Directors. This committee works with other AIChE Foundation committee members and staff to maintain a high donor retention rate, both in numbers of donors and funding received annually, and focus sharply on donors capable of major and leadership gifts to AIChE.
This committee works closely our Major Gifts team and is focused on cultivating individual principal gifts, each of $50,000 or more, from new and existing donors to AIChE. The committee members, working with the AIChE Foundation staff and other Foundation Trustees identify potential major gift donors and cultivate relationships with target donors using: written materials (a Customized Case for Giving Principal Gifts); personal contact; invitations to events; opportunities for ‘named’ gifts or supported projects. The committee members, together with AIChE Staff, Directors and AIChE Foundation Trustees, as appropriate, solicit and secure principal gifts from targeted individuals, and provide donors with appropriate recognition.
This committee’s purpose is to increase corporate funding by cultivating and securing new corporate donors, as well as funding from current corporate donors. This committee will work to leverage the needs of the corporate sponsor, with the resources and benefits AIChE has to offer. This committee works with other AIChE Foundation committee members and staff on increasing the number of corporate sponsors, as well as size of commitments, participating in AIChE ScaleUp and other corporate giving programs.
This committee’s purpose is to increase membership in the AIChE Legacy Society by identifying new planned giving prospects and secure planned gifts through personal contact, phone contact, written correspondence, and special events throughout the year. This committee will work with other AIChE Foundation committee members and staff on marketing the AIChE Legacy Society to prospects through bequests, life-income gifts, and other deferred giving arrangements.
This committee’s purpose is to research and identify potential grant funding opportunities for the AIChE Foundation. The committee also participates in the development and review of grant proposals prepared by AIChE staff members and AIChE volunteer groups. This committee also works with other AIChE Foundation committee members and staff on identifying AIChE Foundation projects and programs that may be eligible for government, corporate or private foundation grant funding.
*All recognition activities and programs are now administered by the AIChE Foundation staff. However, each committee will provide input and direction on how we can improve and enhance our recognition efforts in their respective areas.
