Theodore Nelson

Dr. Theodore Nelson is focused on performing pressure relief and flare system (PRFS) evaluations for clients in the petrochemical, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. He has proven experience with conducting incident investigations and a demonstrated record of addressing safety solutions. Dr. Nelson also has extensive experience in safety technologies, safety testing, process technology, Design Institute for Emergency Relief Systems (DIERS) methodology, Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) guidelines, process safety management (PSM), hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies, quantitative risk analysis (QRA), in addition to ASME, OSHA, and NFPA guidelines.

Dr. Nelson is a safety consultant at the IoMosaic, CBI (Shaw Group), Honeywell and Noblis. He has led the safety testing program with developing necessary process, kinetic and safety data for an ammonium nitrate derivative and a design for the safety system.

Dr. Nelson is also a principal at Noblis, a nonprofit scientific and engineering company in support of projects with the Department of Defense, Department of Energy and other government agencies. The work encompasses safety and process technology in the elimination of chemical weapons, weapons of mass destruction and alternative fuels.

He was also a petrochemical planning specialist at Saudi Aramco, Saudi Arabia, where he served as a senior member of the Facilities Planning Department with responsibility to provide direction to Aramco’s entry into the petrochemicals field.
