Katy Olafson is a doctoral candidate at the University of Houston. She received her BS degree in chemical engineering in 2012 from the University of Louisville J.B. Speed School of Engineering. Her research focuses on the fundamental mechanisms of hematin crystallization that underlie malaria pathophysiology and the mode of inhibition by antimalarials.
