Have Lunch with an Astronaut at the Spring Meeting!

If you’re attending the 2015 Spring Meeting or 11th Global Congress on Process Safety, join AIChE & CCPS as they host their first-ever joint luncheon on Wednesday, April 29 at 11:45 at the Austin Hilton in salons F – K.

Astronaut and engineer Al Sacco will be giving a keynote luncheon talk entitled "You Think You Have Safety Concerns! The Flight of STS-73.”

Sacco, an AIChE Fellow, will give a visual tour of a 16-day journey on the Space Shuttle Columbia, where he conducted multiple experiments. He’ll talk about how he risked his life in space, what was done, and what the results show. Anecdotal stories will discuss the safety training, processes, and attitude put into practice in manned space programs.

What is it like to sit on seven and one-half million pounds of thrust, and go from zero velocity to just under 5 miles per second in 8.5 minutes?

You’ll learn the answer to this and many other questions during this must-attend event. Note this is a ticketed event!

If you’re not attending #AIChESpring or #GCPS, stay tuned to ChEnected for our interview with Al Sacco.
