The Latest YPC News

Dear YP Members of AIChE,

The AIChE Spring Meeting and 11th Global Congress on Process Safety is just around the corner! It is taking place April 26-30 in Austin, Texas overlapping with the AIChE 2015 Spring Meeting's Student Program occurring April 26-27. YPC will be helping out with the Student Program by participating in a Networking session, Roundtable discussions and other activities. If you will be attending the Spring Meeting and Global Congress on Process Safety make sure you check out the YPC Programming Preview to see all of the great sessions with Young Professional in mind as well the ever popular YPC Mixer which will be held on Sunday evening, April 26. If you are going to be at the meeting and enjoy using Twitter please use the hashtags #AIChEYoungProf, #AIChESpring, and #GCPS.

In this edition of the Newsletter we also have a great article about ways to get involved in the Health & Safety Division as well as information about the Early Career workshop that you can sign up for at the Spring Meeting on Monday April 27. Also included is an overview of the Chicago Local YP Section which is one of the most active YP sections in the country and some of their upcoming events.

The Spring Meeting also marks the start of new terms for SubCommittee Chairs, Leadership Positions, and Past Chair, Chair and Vice Chair. I am happy to welcome new and seasoned members alike into their new positions and I am proud to pass the reigns of Chair on to Sarah Ewing and welcome Chris Lowe into the position of Vice Chair as I assume the position of Past Chair. Thank you all for your support over the past year and in helping contribute to the growth and success of the Young Professionals Committee!

Thanks so much,
Elizabeth J. H. Guenther, Chair YPC
