Vice President of Industry Relations, NCSU student chapter

Describe an event in your chapter that you are most proud to have been involved with.

I don't have one specific event. I am involved with setting up company dinners on campus for the chapter. I am proud of them all because the events benefit the corporate sponsor as well as the students in our chapter.

What are your plans after graduation? In what field are you most interested in having an impact?

I would like to enter the professional world and eventually get my MBA later on in my career. I am interested in working in the oil and gas industry.

How do you blow off steam and keep your sanity between classes, homework and projects?

I like to get out around the city and spend time with friends. Anything outdoors helps keep my sanity (especially golf).

Which of your undergraduate classes have you most enjoyed?

My favorite was probably Engineering Economic Analysis. I like the business side of things just as much as the technical side.

How did you decide to pursue a degree in ChE?

I chose ChE because the work is challenging and touches on so many disciplines. I think it is one of the most valuable degrees.

What is the best-kept secret on your campus? Nothing on campus stays a secret for too long.

What are you most looking forward to after graduation?

Having a stable source of income and no more problem sets.

What will you be most saddened to leave behind at school when you move on?

Leaving behind a lot of great people and a great city (if I need to relocate).

What is the most unexpected thing you have been asked in an interview?

Do you have any advice to incoming students and underclassmen ChEs around the world?

Get involved on campus, especially with something like AIChE. It is a great way to make valuable connections.

Is it Friday yet?
