YPC is currently working on finalizing a number of great YP and Student sessions and activities for this year's Annual Student and Professional Conferences in Pittsburgh, PA, this October. In addition to the work that is being done for the Annual conferences, YPC is also beginning to finalize YP sessions for the 2013 Spring Meeting, which will be held in San Antonio, TX. Transition to Young Professionals Committee (YPC) The Young Professionals Committee's by-laws have been approved and we have officially transitioned from YPAB to YPC. For more information about why we are made the transition to YPC please see the article in the second edition of the YP newsletter titled "The Transition from YPAB to YPC: How does it Affect Me?". Open YPC Positions YPC currently has a number of leadership positions that we are looking to fill for the 2012-2013 year. Next Conference Call Our next YPC conference call is tentatively scheduled for the end of September. K-12 Outreach at the 2012 Annual Conference On the Sunday of the Annual Conference in Pittsburgh, AIChE will be sponsoring a K-12 outreach event for local high school students. If you are interested in volunteering or learning more, please see the article "Call for Volunteers: K-12 Activities at the AIChE Annual meeting" or send an email to K12Outreach@aiche.org. AIChE Young Professional Newsletter YPC hopes to continue to publish newsletters on a quarterly basis. We are looking for volunteers interested in helping with the newsletter either by writing articles or editing them. We also would like to include more information about what YP local sections across the country are doing in our future Upcoming Local YP Section Events articles.
