These expanded polytetrafluoro-ethylene (ePTFE) membranes housed in high-density polyethylene (HDPE) cartridge filters are available in three versions with retention ratings of 0.1 µm, 30 nm and 20 nm, and they can be used as drop-in replacements for existing filters. They are said to provide superior retention and be capable of achieving a 150–400% improvement in flow capability over the best filter technology currently available (with the same retention rating and flow performance). All non-PTFE components are made of HDPE to ensure low organic and metal ion extractables. The filters are appropriate for high-turnover recirculation filter systems or as the final filter in high-throughput chemical filling and packaging stations, and are suitable for use during the manufacture of high-purity chemicals used in semiconductor and electronics fabrication processes.
Cartridge Filter
This 40-nm-rated filter provides 40-nm retention while maintaining the flow of 50-nm-rated filters in wet processes and distribution systems. They improve performance and lower costs for semiconductor manufacturing, and can be installed as retrofits in existing systems to upgrade retention performance and reduce particle counts without negatively affecting performance. Using these filters can also reduce processing times or increase flowrates.
Pleated Cartridge Filter
This high-efficiency pleated cartridge filter for industrial air-filtration baghouses increases system throughput by up to 25% and can operate continuously at temperatures as high as 500°F (260°C). These filters provide nearly three times the filtering surface of similarly sized bag filters, and an increase in airflow that improves system productivity. In most cases, air-to-cloth ratios are cut in half and differential pressures are significantly reduced. The cartridge filters use high-efficiency laminates with expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) membranes. This design provides better product capture and lowers emissions.
GORE Filters
GORE Filters are designed for high-purity chemical processing and can be used as drop-in replacements for existing filters. They improve flow by up to 200% compared to other available filter technology — allowing users to reduce processing time or decrease the number of filters required to maintain system flow. These filters, which incorporate the manufacturer’s proprietary high-flow polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) filtration media, are suitable for high-throughput filling, packaging and recirculation systems for high-viscosity fluids, acids, bases, solvents, specialty chemicals, and other high-purity chemicals. They are available in pore-size ratings from
0.1 µm to 0.03 µm.
GFO packing
GFO packing is a high-performance composite material, designed and engineered for use as compression packing for sealing shafts on high-speed pumps, mixers, agitators, and any other equipment with rotating or reciprocating shafts. This material does not become hard or brittle, thus minimizing shaft wear. Its excellent lubricity and high-thermal conductivity keep it cool-running. It can be installed as a facility’s sole packing material, eliminating the costly confusion associated with installing multiple types of packing.
Gore joint sealant
Enhancements to the Gore joint sealant have increased its strength by 50%, making it more creep-resistant than before and, thereby, increasing seal reliability. The joint sealant is a versatile form-in-place gasketing material that can be used in most types of sealing applications. Made from GORE expanded PTFE, the material is impervious to virtually all chemicals, is suitable for use in temperatures ranging from –450°F to 600°F, and withstands pressures to 3,000 psig. According to the company, the stronger GORE joint sealant product also offers several cost advantages. Because it is designed to be customized onsite, the joint sealant enables the user to eliminate costly material scrap, lengthy lead times, and the excessive inventory burdens of stocking large or complex flange gaskets that must be pre-cut.
GORE Universal Pipe Gaskets
The GORE Universal Pipe Gaskets enable maintenance engineers to standardize their gasket applications across steel, glass-lined steel and FRP systems wherever a non-metallic gasket can be used. Unaffected by even the most aggressive chemicals, these gaskets provide exceptional performance in three important areas: seal reliability; conforming to irregular surfaces; and protecting flanges. They are engineered to deliver superior bolt-load retention, and achieve superior creep resistance for reliable sealing of steel piping flanges. Moreover, these gaskets deliver the low stress-to-seal in even the most fragile plastic and glass-lined flanges. They are suitable for use at temperatures up to 600°F and pressures up to 3,000 psi.
