UNIBAG Series filter bags
UNIBAG Series filter bags are made from low-cost, environmentally friendly materials and provide excellent retention efficiency, operational integrity and reliability. They are available in both polypropylene and polyester made from recycled fibers with no optical white additives. The top UNIRING, which features a molded seal, provides optimum sealing and eliminates bypass problems common with snap rings. This design also reduces process system contamination caused by debris passing through needle punch holes. The bags have an all-welded construction and come in sizes that fit and seal most industry standard Number 1 (7 in. × 16 in.) and Number 2 (7 in. × 32 in.) vessels.

Specialty Filters
These specialty filters handle a wide range of liquid process applications in many industries. LOFMEM Series membrane cartridges are absolute-rated filters that provide precise, repeatable, sub-micron filtration. LOFPLEAT Series cartridges have a pleated configuration that provides higher surface area than depth filters for improved dirt-holding capacity and a longer onstream life. LOFTREX Series depth filtration cartridges are cylindrical filters with a circuitous path that captures a wide range of particle sizes and gelatinous contaminants

CLEARGAF filter bags
Specifically designed to achieve the purity requirements of the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries, CLEARGAF filter bags are FDA-compliant as per the 21CFR177 standard, and EC-compliant as per the 90/128/EEC standard. They are manufactured under special conditions to ensure they contain no contamination. Single packaging in protective plastic keeps bags free from contamination during shipping, storage and installation, and special warehousing facilities provide protection during storage. The bags are made of low-migration media, which minimizes the amount of foreign substances that are introduced to contained fluids. The manufacturer’s Sentinel ring bag seals, combined with the bags’ all-welded construction, eliminate fluid bypass that can occur through needle holes in felt and multi-layer bags.

Duplex Polyline bag filters
Duplex Polyline bag filters do not rust or corrode because they are manufactured with no metal components. Their one-piece polypropylene-molded filter housing bodies have no seams, welds or crevices to trap particles, making them easy to clean. A quick quarter-turn of the operating lever diverts flow from one filter housing to the other by means of a chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) plastic valve assembly. This feature allows the process to continuously run during bag change-outs. These adjustable bag filters can be auto-mated for remote operation by replacing the operating lever on the CPVC valve assembly with either a pneumatic or electric actuator. Filter housing covers feature an all-plastic, built-in vent valve with an integral gage tap, allowing application flexibility as inlet and outlet connections can be easily adapted to both inline and loop piping arrangements. The covers can be removed without the use of tools. Integral plastic mounting skids are standard, simplifying bad installation. The filters are available in sizes for standard number 1, single-length or number 2, double-length filter bags.

Sentinel filter bags
Sentinel filter bags meet the requirements of liquid filtration applications that have a zero tolerance for filtration bypass. Manufactured using a unique fabric-welding technology, as opposed to sewing, these filters have no needle holes that allow unwanted particulate matter to bypass the filter bag. This process also enables the manufacturer to shape the bags to conform to the internal shape of the filter basket, preventing bag failure. The bags come standard with a patented plastic ring that makes a secure, bypass free seal between the filter bag and the filter housing. The design of this seal creates a constant, radially directed pressure to prevent the ring from collapsing into the filter basket. Sentinel filter bags are available with either polypropylene or polyester construction in both double-length, 7-in.× 32-in. number 2 size, and single-length 7-in. × 16-in., number 1 size, to fit filter housings from most manufacturers.

Maxiline MBF HD multi-bag filter housing
The Maxiline MBF HD multi-bag filter housing is designed for cost-sensitive, high-flowrate liquid filtration applications up to 4,500 gal/min. The unit features a rugged, hand-wheel-operated davit cover that provides dependable service in most demanding industrial applications. Filter media changeout is simple — remove the cover, loosen the cover eye bolts, turn the hand wheel to raise the cover, and swing it aside; no overhead cranes or external lifting gear are required. The filter housing has unique 3-point filter-bag hold-downs or bayonet fittings to ensure that the seal between each filter bag and housing body protects against process media bypass. Every unit comes with an ASME “U” Code Stamp and has a side-entry design with a low-profile tangential outlet to simplify filter bag removal and installation. The filter housings offer standard electropolished perforated-filter-bag restrainer baskets and a bead-blasted exterior finish. They are available in Type 304 stainless steel or carbon steel in 3- to 24-filter-bag designs.

guide to bag filtration systems
Among the products covered in this guide to bag filtration systems is a new filter element that combines the best of both bag and cartridge filters into a single unit. The brochure provides detailed information on the patent-pending Hayflow filter element, and a cut-away illustration show how the element works in conjunction with the filter housing’s basket. A special section of the guide details advances in bag filter housings, including single-bag and multi-bag housings for high-flowrate applications.

PROGAF filter bags
An alternative to expensive cartridge filters, the economical PROGAF filter bags combine extended service life with filtration efficiency ratings of up to 99.98%. Their unique multi-layer construction provides a progressive filtration mechanism that traps unwanted particles throughout the depth of the media. The filter bags’ 100% polypropylene construction provides the benefits of a chemically resistant and silicone-free material used to manufacture an economical, self-contained and easy-to-dispose filter bag. Featuring all-welded construction, PROGAF filter bags are manufactured without sewn seams that may permit bypass of the process media.

“Guide to Pipeline Strainers”
The “Guide to Pipeline Strainers” describes how these “coarse filters” protect expensive pipeline-system components from damage by removing particulate matter from the process media. The publication provides an overview of various available simplex, duplex, Y-type and automatic self-cleaning straining models, along with either a photograph or cut-away illustration. Standard features and available options are presented in easy-to-read tables, and a selection chart for each model shows available sizes, materials of construction, end connections, seals, and pressure ratings.
