Outreach at The Birch Walthen Lennox School, NYC, Jan. 24, 2014

The PI of RCN-CCUS, Alissa Park, developed a module for producing chalk/limestone by using CO2.  In this module, the students mixed solutions of calcium chloride and dissolved CO2 to produce CaCO3 (chalk/limestone), and filtered the resulting mixture to produce pure CaCO3.  Fourth grade students from The Birch Walthen Lennox School in NYC participated in this outreach event on Friday, January 24, 2014. The following pictures show some of the active engagement of these students.
