Brief description:

Monsanto is an American Company that has operations in different countries all over the world. Monsanto core business is the production of Herbicides and Seeds. As a multinational company Monsanto has the challenge of complying not only with the corporate requirements but also with each of the country where it has operations legal ones. The Regional Risk Management Program developed by Monsanto in Latin America took the best and more restrictive practices from the Brazilian, Argentinean and the American Legislation and Monsanto's corporate requirements in order to develop a process safety management system for the agrochemical and seeds manufacturing operations with the Goal of creating and sustaining an injury free workplace and the freedom to operate.

As part of the Regional Risk Management Program (RRMP) developed by Monsanto in Latin America, the continuous training for personnel have a considerable importance due to the poor knowledge of new engineer in Process Safety just they finished the University.

The Process Safety training program developed at Monsanto Zarate site is divided in two main sections. The first one is a CBT for the new personnel admitted to plant, occupied positions in processes or administrative areas, which presents basic knowledge of PSM.

The second section is an attendance type of training, in which they are developed with greater depth all the sections in which the RRMP is based. The main objective of this section is secure the freedom to operate of all the Monsanto chemical sites at the Latin-American region, improving the safety knowledge in terms of Mechanical Integrity, Emergency Planning & Response, Management of Change, Process Information and Risk Analysis.
