Register online
The national competition roster is drawn from regional winners, based on the size of each student region. Each region may send its first and second place winner at the minimum. The Mid America, Northeast, Rocky Mountain and Western regions may send their 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. The Mid-Atlantic, North Central and Southern regions may send their top five winners. At the national competition, only one entry per school is permitted in this qualifying procedure. Multiple entries per school may be allowed following the open entry procedure discussed below.

The eligible teams from the regional competitions MUST SUBMIT an application to compete in the 2008 national competition by June 30, 2008. If an eligible team does not submit its application by the deadline, their competition slot will be opened up to a waiting list team, in the order that the waiting list entries were received. Review the full competition rules for more information.

Waiting List: Teams that competed at regional competitions but that did not make the short list of qualifiers (as described above) may use the registration link above to apply for the waiting list.

On July 1, 2008, open slots will be allocated on a "first-come, first-served" basis to waiting list teams. Preference will be given so that there will be only one team entry per student chapter. Closer to the competition date, some competition slots may become open, and waiting list teams will move up the list in the order of their application.

Entry fee
To help defray the increasing costs of conducting the National Competition, teams are asked to pay an entry fee of $100 per car. Entry fees should be submitted by June 30, 2008.

Please make the check payable to “AIChE”, and write “2008 Chem-E-Car” on the check. Mail it to: Gordon Ellis, AIChE, 3 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10016.

Should a waiting list team enter the competition rotation, AIChE will request that the team submit an entry fee at its soonest opportunity.
