SAChE Chem-E-Car Safety Award

Description:
Award for team that best demonstrates safe practices during design, testing, operation, chemical handling, and clean-up during the Chem-E-Car National Competition.  Judging is based on 3 main criteria:  completion of a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Engineering Documentation Package (EDP), impressions made during the on-site Chem-E-Car safety inspection, and the overall safe practice observed in the Chem-E-Car prep area and on the course during the competition.

Deadline:
Award begins by completing and submitting a team’s Chem-E-Car JSA and EDP by the deadline established by the Chem-E-Car safety committee (generally due 6 weeks before the Chem-E-Car national event).

Award:
One team award in the amount of $500

Presentation:
Award is presented at the conclusion of the Chem-E-Car contest held annually at the AIChE National Student Conference.
