Minority Scholarship Awards for Incoming College Freshman

award

The AIChE Minority Scholarship Award is presented to 10 incoming college freshman annually. Applicants shall be required to be high school graduates during the 2010-2011 academic year and be members of a minority group that is under-represented in chemical engineering, i.e., African-American, Hispanic, Native American, Alaskan Native. Applicants must plan to enroll during the 2011-2012 academic year in a four-year college or university offering a science/engineering degree. Applicants are encouraged to choose classes leading to a degree in chemical engineering.

Award:
A one-time award of $1,000 per student. Approximately 10 scholarships are presented annually.

Sponsor:
Minority Affairs Committee (MAC) with funding support from Women's Initiative Committee (WIC) and AIChE Foundation.

Presentation:
Students are recognized at the National Student Conference Awards Ceremony each year.
