Adam Cohen

Harvard University

Adam Cohen graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College (2001) with a degree in Chemistry and Physics.  From 2001-2003 he studied on a Marshall Scholarship at Cambridge, UK, where he obtained a PhD in theoretical physics, working with L. Mahadevan (now at Harvard) on the theory of fibrillar materials and with Shaul Mukamel (now at UC Irvine) on the theory of nonequilibrium van der Waals/Casimir forces.  He then went to Stanford and obtained a second PhD in experimental physics, working with W. E. Moerner in the chemistry department.  He joined the Harvard faculty as an assistant professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology and of Physics in August of 2007.
