Chemical Engineering Job Contacts

Dear AIChE Local Section Chair,

Please link the Jobs/Career Resource Navigation Tab on your local section website directly to the AIChE job board http://careerengineer.aiche.org/home/index.cfm?site_id=1932

by November 15, 2011.

The purpose of this request is to:

·         Remind members of this significant career resource.

·         Provide continuity across all local section web sites.

·         Eliminate job-related communications as well as the job posting and maintenance task on local section web pages, allowing local sections to focus on more important matters.

·         Fulfill the goal of announcing job opportunities to members as a service.  AIChE’s job board has hundreds of job opportunities and a resume bank that employers search and contact members with job offers.

·         Direct jobseekers to the AIChE job board to deliver more candidates to posting employers who support the Institute’s efforts and programs.

·         Make hiring employers and jobseekers aware of all the recruiting options available.  For example, there’s a Chemical Engineering Online Career Fair taking place on the job board October 4-5.  This online event replaces the on-site career fair previously held at AIChE conferences.  Participants have been delighted with this format that fits their schedule and their budget.

AIChE’s targeted job board for chemical professionals was launched in early 2008.  It is managed by a job board leader and powered by cutting-edge job board technology.  The site is feature rich yet easy to use.  Since many recruiters posting jobs are not chemical engineers, AIChE membership is not required to post jobs to the site.  AIChE National Membership is also not required to search jobs, although members are given front of the line placement in the resume bank and are preferred by employers due to their commitment to professional excellence.

Postings feature:

* real-time editing capability, providing a 45-day timeslot and maximizing employer investment compared to paying per position on other job boards.

* company profile, logo and link for added branding.

* convenient tools to manage candidates.

* dedicated job board customer service.

* free down-posting option by our network partners for added exposure (over 1,000 partners including major industry magazines and trade associations have the option to down-post jobs from the AIChE job board to theirs if they feel the opportunity would be of interest to their constituency)

* accept responses thru the job board or through a formal applicant system on a career site.

* email broadcasting to all jobseekers who have requested notification about jobs that meet their search criteria.
