Idaho Academy of Science Scholarships
Program Description
The purpose of the IAS Scholarship Program is two-fold: 1) To encourage Idaho's better students to study in Idaho and 2) to encourage such students to major in the sciences or science education. The members and leaders of the Idaho Academy of Science extend their sincere congratulations to the nearly 100 Idaho students who have been awarded an IAS scholarship since 1991!
Requirements
Idaho resident students who wish to apply for an IAS scholarship should contact the financial aid or scholarship office at the Idaho College or University they are enrolled or plan to attend.
Benefits/Compensation
The staff, faculty or Financial Aid Committee at each institution awards and disburses funds to individual students. They select the recipients based on need and/or merit independent from the Idaho Academy of Science.
The recipients are Idaho residents who are majoring in the sciences or science education and/or preparing for a science-related career.
Each institution notifies the Academy of the names and addresses of all IAS Scholarship recipients and the amounts awarded to each; in addition, each institution is requested to send a notice of each scholarship award to the newspaper serving the community of each recipient. The Academy also publicizes the scholarship winners in its newsletters.
