ALABAMA
Legacy, Inc. Environmental Education Scholarship
Program Description
The Environmental Education Scholarship Program assists students who are pursuing environmentally related careers. Our goal is to provide financial assistance to students who will make a difference in Alabamas environment through education.
Requirements
Open to undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students. Recipients must be Alabama residents attending an Alabamauniversity. Students must have at least junior standing at their university by Fall Quarter/Semester 2006. There are no major requirements. Applicants are required to turn in a completed application, an official transcript, and 3 letters of recommendation (two academic references and one personal reference). Scholarship finalists will be required to attend an interview session that will be held in July 2006. A Legacy representative will contact you in writing if you are selected for an interview. Deadline: May 5, 2006

ALASKA
Alaska Association of Environmental Professionals Scholarship
Program Description
The purpose of the Alaska Association of Environmental Professionals Scholarship Fund is to offer financial assistance for tuition and other educational related expenses to full-time students at Alaska Pacific University (APU), University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), and/or the University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) who is admitted into a degree-seeking program with emphasis in Environmental Studies and/or Science.
Requirements
Open to undergraduate and graduate students. Applicant must be both a U.S. citizen and an Alaska resident, as well as a full-time student at Alaska Pacific University, University of Alaska Anchorage, University of Alaska Fairbanks, or the University of Alaska Southeast in the semester the award is disbursed. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0) is required. Applicants are required to turn in a completed application, a personal essay, and 2 letters of recommendation. Deadline: TBA

Union of Students Sustainability Scholarship
Program Description
The Union of Sustainability Scholarship rewards students for their voluntary involvement in the recycling program or sustainability issues on the UAA campus. Four scholarships are offered for the spring semester.

Requirements
Applicant must be a student at the University of Alaska Anchorage (at least 3 credits) with a GPA of 2.5 (out of 4.0). He or she must have participated in voluntary recycling on the UAA campus or made significant contributions to sustainability issues on campus during the semester for which the award is given. Applicants are required to turn in a completed application, 2 letters of recommendation, and a narrative essay that describes their contributions to sustainability on the UAA campus. Deadline: March

ARIZONA
Southern Arizona Environmental Management Society Scholarship
Program Description
The SEAM environmental scholarship was created to encourage students working on environmental problems who attend the University of Arizona.
Requirements
Open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Arizona who plan to pursue a career in the environmental sciences. Applicants are required to have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and satisfactory progress toward a degree. Complete application.

Randall Mathis Scholarship for Environmental Studies
Program Description
The Randall Mathis Scholarship provides financial assistance to Arkansas residents studying the environmental sciences.

One $2,500 scholarship
Requirements
Open to undergraduate and graduate students. Applicant must be both a U.S. citizen and an Arkansas resident, as well as a full-time student at an Arkansas university in the 2006-2007 school year. A minimum of 40 credit hours and a cumulative GPA of 2.8 (out of 4.0) are also required. Applicants are required to turn in a completed application, an official transcript, a letter of nomination from a faculty member, and 2 letters of recommendation. In addition, the applicant should write 1 to 3 double-spaced, typed pages explaining their professional career goals relating to the field(s) of environmental, health and safety. Deadline: January 30, 2006

Arkansas Game & Fish Commission Conservation Scholarship
Program Description
The Conservation Scholarship Program uses funds from the sale of conservation license plates to let students reach their potential and create tomorrows conservation professionals.
Requirements
Applicants must be Arkansas high school seniors or Arkansas college undergraduates pursuing a career in the field of natural resources conservation with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (4.0 scale). Applicants must not have received a full scholarship from another source. Completed application. Deadline: June 15, 2006
Benefits/Compensation
$2,000 per year for college freshmen and sophomores. $3,000 per year for juniors, seniors, and graduate students. Applicants must reapply each year and are eligible for up to five years of scholarship funding. Scholarship funds are restricted to tuition, books, fees and lodging.

Larry Wilson Scholarship for Environmental Studies
