Active Chemistry

Under a grant from NSF, a new high school chemistry curriculum was developed with an emphasis on sustainability and practical problem solving.  To learn more about Active Chemistry, go to www.its-about-time.com

Sustainability Chapters include:
Making it Matter:  Concepts of materials use and sustainabilty product development

It's Water  but Can you Drink it?
Students are challenged to develop a water purification system; learning basic chemical concepts as they complete their open ended challenge.

Fuel Cells:
Students design a fuel cell car to contraints set by the class, and then compete in competitions.  Undersing of green house gases, hydrogen as an energy carrier, and substitution reactions are just some of the concpetes presented.
