Joint AIChE-AVS Plasma Science & Technology Sessions
This year for the first time AIChE and the American Vacuum Society (AVS) are co-sponsoring sessions in each others meetings being held simultaneously in San Francisco, CA.
  • The AVS session highlighted by a talk by VINCENT DONNELLY of the University of Houston on new methods for probing phenomena at surfaces being modified by plasmas - (8:00am - Tuesday, November 14th, Room 2011 Moscone West Convention Center)
  • AIChE’s Session also chaired by VINCENT DONNELLY AND SANG HAN (3:15pm-5:45pm - Thursday, November 16th, Yerba Buena Ballroom 5 - Marriott)

Chemical engineering has played a strong role in the evolution of plasma science and today many noted plasma science groups reside in chemical engineering departments. The papers in the AVS plasma surface interactions session underscore the importance of clarifying the complex phenomena occurring at the plasma wall interface for the benefit technology and the richness of the fundamental science residing at the plasma-surface interface.  The papers in the AIChE session focus on the subject of low-temperature plasmas widely used in fabrication of integrated circuits, micro/nanoelectromechanical systems, and optoelectronic devices.

AVS and AIChE attendees will be admitted to either of  the joint AIChE-AVS sessions by badge of either conference. The AIChE session is at the Marriott and the AVS session is at the Moscone Convention Center.
