Industry and Government Leaders Roundtable on the Future of Chemical Engineering

The 2006 Annual Meeting will emphasize the globalization and diversity of industries the chemical engineering profession serves. On the afternoon of Sunday, November 12, 2006, AIChE will host the roundtable of corporate and government leaders drawn from around the world. 

The focus will be how thought leaders and experts from around the world view the future of chemical engineering. The Roundtable will enrich your understanding of the qualifications chemical engineers need to succeed in today’s global business environment.

The participants are: 

  • George Maxwell Richards, His Excellency the President of Trinidad and Tobago

  • Sass Somekh, President, Novellus, San Jose, California
  • Greg Lewin, President, Shell Global Solutions, The Netherlands, and President, IChemE
  • S.C. Naik, President, The Institution of Engineers, India
  • Ann Lee, Vice President, Process Development, Genentech, Inc., San Francisco, California

We anticipate that each speaker will make a 10-20 minutes presentation from the perspective of his or her industry, and at the conclusion the audience will have some time to address questions to the panel. The entire session is co-sponsored by AIChE's assembly of fellows and  is expected to run approximately about two and one-half  hours .
