Bouncing back from 2009 rate of 6.4 % unemployment (still lower than the national average), engineers are in demand again! Hot industries include biomedical, aerospace, environmental, petroleum, mechanical and electrical engineering.
Capital and maintenance projects, as well as research and development are funded again as society recognizes the need to develop solutions to pressing global challenges. Energy, Pharmaceutical and Environmental technologies are in the forefront of innovation to meet these challenges.
At the same time, the engineering talent gap is growing, especially in the oil and gas industries. Recruiters are working with industry, government and universities to assist in developing qualified leads for jobs all over the world. Even in the continuing global economic slow-down, hiring is now critical as projects and funding are green-lighted.
