MECO Custom Shaft Seals
The MECO custom shaft seals reduce solvent vapor loss from rotating extractor, dryer and reactor driveshafts, resulting in local solvent concentrations of 100 ppm or less. Fully split seals can be installed on existing machinery with minimal downtime. Operator-adjustable seals often allow adjustment while machinery continues to run. Patented seal designs accommodate 6 mm and more of diametric shaft run-out.

Outside Face Seal
The outside face seal (OFS) is ideal for the containment of vapors in vertical-shaft vessels and can operate without a purge or flush system. It is particularly suited for top-entry agitators, where long, cantilevered shafts can exhibit high runout and angular misalignment. The OFS will permit significant axial motion, making it ideal for applications where there is shaft float and thermal expansion. The seal is available unsplit or fully split, and in a wide variety of materials combinations for maximum compatibility with acids, bases and aromatic hydrocarbons. The OFS can be built with no elastomers, permitting its use with a wide variety of aggressive chemistries. OFS seals excel in vacuum environments, often cutting process times in half, due to increased vacuum containment. They can contain a high degree of vacuum and run at high temperatures on a wide variety of process machinery. The OFS is simple to install, and requires no flush or purge.
