VICTREX PEEK polyaryletherketone
This new technical brochure discusses the benefits of using VICTREX PEEK polyaryletherketone in various types of compressors. It highlights the polymer’s key benefits, including: injection moldability and reliability; the ability to be compounded with a wide range of fillers; and the ability to run in oil-less environments. Several graphs illustrate thermal performance, property retention after steam exposure, and flexural fatigue test data. The brochure also discusses specific applications where PEEK has improved efficiency and produced cost savings, and includes a section on the use of PEEK coatings for metal components.

PEEK-Based Composites
This brochure explains that semi-crystalline polyaryletherketone (PEEK) can be used as a matrix for thermoplastic composite prepregs made of carbon, glass or aramid continuous fibers. It highlights the polymer’s ability to withstand continuous operating temperatures of up to 260°C in low-stress applications and 120°C wet in aerospace structural applications. It discusses the stages of composite forming, including heating, pressurization and cooling, and it details the compatibility of PEEK-based composites with a range of rapid, automated and economical fabrication processes. A section on the techniques that can be used to bond and weld the composites, such as ultrasonic, vibration, hot plate and induction, is also included.

Vicote coatings and Victrex PEEK HT grades
Based on Victrex PEEK polymer, a linear, aromatic, semi-crystalline material, Vicote coatings and Victrex PEEK HT grades are now FDA-compliant and can be used in food processing and related applications to make components that will come into contact with food. Vicote 708 and 709 are available in 10-mm and 50-mm particle sizes, and address the specific requirements of demanding high-temperature applications. They also offer excellent wear and scratch resistance. Victrex PEEK HT has a higher glass-transition temperature and melt temperature than Victrex PEEK, delivering longer-term durability, strength and reliability.
