This family of cosmetic silicone system products provides advantages in terms of stability, functionality, and sensory features. The system is comprised of several materials — the KSG-360Z silicone gel emulsifier, the KSP-441 hybrid silicone powder, and the DMF-2 high-purity, low-residual dimethicone fluid. The materials not only work well together, but each product also offers unique performance properties and sensory benefits when used on its own. These products are said to be suitable alternatives to D5 siloxanes and D5 derivatives.
KER line of silicone die-bond materials
The KER line of silicone die-bond materials provides excellent encapsulating performance for high-brightness light emitting diodes (HBLEDs). Comprised of three key single-component, heat-cured products, the diverse series covers a broad spectrum of silicone polymer chemistry and structural composition. This makes the products particularly useful for numerous demanding HBLED packaging applications. The KER series is available in clear, opaque, and white thin-bond-line versions to minimize light absorption and maximize heat dissipation. Applications range from display equipment to backlight sources. The KER-3000-M2 formulation is nearly transparent and has excellent transmittance of UV light. The KER-3100-U2 material offers high covering power, high light reflectivity, low thermal resistance, and excellent thermal conductivity. The KER-3200-T1 adhesive has low thermal resistance and experiences little discoloration due to heat and light.
KE2004 Series of liquid injection molding system silicones
The KE2004 Series of liquid injection molding system (LIMSTM) silicones combines a low hardness with enhanced physical properties and improved processing control. Despite their low hardness, these silicones have high tear strength and viscosity, resulting in strong products with a soft feel. Their high tear strength allows for demolding of parts — particularly those with thin walls — without tearing and creating scrap. The materials were developed so that they could be pumped with an adequate injection speed, but still have a high enough viscosity to minimize flash and provide a balanced mold-flow. The KE2004-20 offers a high elongation of 870% and is compliant with food contact regulations (21 CFR 177.2600). The KE2004-5 and KE2004-10 are better suited in manufacturing such cushioning products as orthotics, cheek and forehead pads, and ergonomic and gel-like grips.
