Allegro 200L single-use mixer
The Allegro 200L single-use mixer handles a wide range of liquid-liquid and solid-liquid mixing applications in biopharmaceutical processing, including compounding, formulation, buffer and media preparation, and pH/conductivity adjustment. With an impeller designed for low-shear, general-purpose mixing, it is well suited for difficult mixing tasks that involve dense powders or high-viscosity materials, or that require fast, repeatable performance. Clockwise and counterclockwise rotation enables up-flow and down-flow mixing. The mixer handles volumes from 50 to 200 L, and has a flush drain valve to facilitate cleaning.

Acrodisc MS syringe filter
By protecting liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LCMS) columns from particulate build-up, the Acrodisc MS syringe filter reduces the frequency and cost of column replacement and enables more-consistent LCMS performance. The filter contains a water-wettable polytetrafluoroethylene membrane in a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) housing. These materials offer excellent chemical resistance, good particulate retention, and minimal protein adsorption, and they allow the filter to be used with either organic or aqueous solvents.

GeneDisc System
The GeneDisc rapid microbiology system enables accelerated microbiological analysis for pharmaceutical and biotechnology applications. The simple-to-use, robust platform — which is based on established quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology — provides a significant time savings over traditional incubation sampling methods. This can allow materials and final products to be released more quickly, improving production efficiency and reducing inventories. Typical culture-based methods may need at least five days to yield results, but the GeneDisc system generates comparable results for most microbiological applications in just a few hours. Bar-coded data input and fewer operator-dependent steps help to ensure reliable results and reduce the potential for error.

AcroPrep Advance 96-well filter plate
The AcroPrep Advance 96-well filter plate provides consistency and reproducibility in multiplexing applications. Its improved design ensures uniform filtration rates, lower hold-up volumes, and consistent sample recovery. The optimized outlet-tip design minimizes weeping and the formation of post-filtration hanging drops. The plate’s biologically inert housing minimizes nonspecific binding of target analytes, which maximizes sample recovery.

T-Series membrane cassettes
T-Series membrane cassettes are constructed with high-performance materials that reduce extractables to deliver high-purity biological solutions. Reducing the amount of rinsing volumes required prior to cassette use, this feature saves time and material cots. The cassettes assure effective mass transfer of proteins, which is critical for biotech manufacturers given their significant cost. High-yield Omega membranes and a polypropylene screen increase processing flux rates and product recovery. The cassette has deep notches to assist fitting into holders. Its rigid encapsulation material reduces over-torquing issues that compress membrane channels and impede product flow. Cassettes are available in fully scalable formats and are offered in four sizes: 200 cm2; 0.1 m2; 0.5 m2; and 2.5 m2. The two smaller-sized cassettes are available in the Minimate II single-use format module.

UltiKleen Excellar ER Filter
As the semiconductor industry moves to narrower linewidths, the demand heightens for filtration products that capture smaller fluid contaminants in the nanometer range. Among the nine new products launched by this filter maker are two that target single-wafer and batch-mode wet-chemical processing. The UltiKleen Excellar ER Filter is a 20-nm-rated, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane that offers superior non-dewetting in aqueous and high-viscosity chemical applications. The Ultipleat SP DR Filter, a 30-nm-rated unit designed for wet-chemical surface preparation, features an asymmetric design that allows for dual retention, and its polymer material enables the filter to operate at higher temperatures than other polymers. The filter also boasts improved chemical resistance, a hydrophilic surface, and high flowrates.

GBK Containment System
The GBK Containment System, an all-in-one contained glove-bag housing, reduces the risk of cross-contamination and shields employees from exposure to harmful chemicals. The operator can easily access replacement filters from zippered feed-in sleeves and then remove spent filter cartridges through a feed-out sleeve using nitrile gloves. Trained personnel can perform a complete filter cartridge change-out in less than two minutes, on average. GBK glove bags are made of antistatic polyurethane with a built-in HEPA filter to prevent condensation. These bags are available with double-zippered feed-in sleeves for maximum operational flexibility, and feature an elastic ring that ensures an effective seal to the housing to prevent the escape of airborne particles. Sealed-sleeve models are available for applications requiring additional protection.
