Model DR05 paddle-wheel flow sensors are available to measure the flow of liquids with low viscosity similar to water. The flow sensor consists of a section of polypropylene pipe fitted with a paddle wheel that extends into the flowing liquid. The rotary motion of the plastic paddle wheel is detected by a Hall sensor, which provides output as a series of pulses whose frequency is directly proportional to the flowrate. Alternatively, the pulsed output can be converted into a 4-20-mA signal. Wetted materials include a polypropylene (PP) housing, ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene (ECTFE) rotor, and ceramic axles and bearings. Viton seals are standard, with ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) optional. The devices are available for pipe sizes of 1in. to 2 in. with turndown ratios of up to 50:1.
DK10 process flap flowmeter
The DK10 process flap flowmeter is available in a large selection of wetted construction materials, including aluminum, bronze, cast iron, stainless steel, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Its shafts can be made of titanium, Hastelloy or plastic for processing aggressive liquids. The flowmeter is available with a choice of one or two alarm level outputs, as well as an analog 4–20-mA output. The flow in the line causes a spring-loaded flap mounted inside the unit’s hemispherical chamber to deflect by an amount that is directly proportional to the flowrate. This movement is transmitted, via a shaft that is isolated from the process, to a mechanical pointer, and the flowrate is displayed on a scale. Each flowmeter is calibrated for the specific liquid being monitored based on customer specifications. The units are available with G or NPT threads for 0.25–2.0-in. pipes and as a wafer for mounting between two DIN or ANSI flanges on DN80 (3 in.) to DN200 (8 in.) pipes,
FS00Z float level switches
FS00Z float level switches have a polypropylene housing with an integrated, water-tight and position-dependent electromechanical switch. The vertical position of the hollow float changes with the level of the liquid media, and when it reaches an angle of 45 deg. from horizontal, switching occurs. The switch point is defined by manipulating the placement of a ballast weight on a connecting cable or by inserting a cable through a tube of the desired length. The switches are suitable for monitoring liquid levels and for direct pump control, due to their high contacting rating of 10 Amps, 250V. They can be used in potable water, polluted media, and other fluids.
