Model HI-QTBS Programmable Intelligent Controller
The model HI-QTBS programmable intelligent controller is contained within an explosionproof (EP) housing that is approved for Class I, II & III, CENELEC, EEx and NEMA 4, 7 & 9 for application requirements in the petrochemical, ordinance, mining, pharmaceutical, semiconductor and biomedical industries. The new EP case can withstand steam temperatures up to 250°F and can be mounted on a panel, pipe or wall. The HIQTBS features 101 automatic tricolor bargraphs that changes color as the signal changes (programmable) and 6-digit display with 6 alarm annunciators. It also includes: RS232/422/485 I/O, analog (2) and relays (4) outputs; power inputs of 5, 8-32 VDC or 90-265 VAC; and signal inputs for V/mADC and true RMS, TC, RTD, strain-gage, 4–20-mA, OHMS, ORP, pH, event, time and Hz. The 18 bit ADC gives a stable 6-digit reading with a 0.0001% resolution. The powerful math functions, polynomials and X-Y tables are all con- figurable via the serial port or keypad.

Model 6000 VDC/mADC-input digital panel meter (DPM)
The Model 6000 VDC/mADC-input digital panel meter (DPM) offers a 3.5-digit, 0.6-in. LED or LCD display. An optional alarm relay is activated when the signal exceeds the set limit. Full-scale with wide adjustment is accessible by removing the front cover. The zero is automatic, but an offset can be injected. Other features include: 1,000-Meg. input impedance; auto zero-auto polarity; single ended/differential; and low-power consumption (400 µA at 5VDC for LDC). The unit’s dimensions are 2.3 in. wide by 1.3 in. high by 1.6 in deep. Optional explosionproof and NEMA4X housings are available.

4–20-mA Calibrator
The low-cost, portable calibrator model 420 was designed for calibration/test of DPMs, PLCs, transmitters, sensors or any other device requiring a 4–20-mA current loop signal. The 4-in.×2.5-in.×4-in. housing comes with a belt clip for ease of operation. Powered by a 9V transistortype battery, this unit operates down to 6V and can drive up to 300 ohm loads or sustain up to 7V burden of the load. The calibrator features a dual full-scale range of 19.99- and 25.0-mA. The calibrator features a 3-1/2 digit built-in display that will only turn on if the “loop” is closed (connected).

NQL series of loop-powered instruments
The NQL series of loop-powered instruments is now 10CFR50-B-qualified (a Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirement for nuclear power plants). The NQL consists of eight models that accept 4–20 or 10–50-mA input and displays the process variable in digital or digital/bargraph mode. Both LCD and LED versions are available and some models come with RS232E I/O. The new series is intended for replacement (or new installations) of analog meters where only the two-signal wires are available (no power source). The LCD versions come with automatic tricolor backlight. Four packages are available: 4.5-in. switchboard; 6-in. edgewise and 1.75-in. wide; 6-in. edgewise and 1-in. wide; and miniature 2.9 in. ×1.5 in. × 1.5 in. (digital only).OTEK Corp.

LPB bar graph
The latest in a family of 10-loop powered instruments, the LPB bar graph can be configured for 1, 3 or 5 pointers or full bars. The LPB is 4–20-mA powered and only puts a 4.5-V burden in the loop, allowing for multiple units in the loop on the factory floor. The 51 segments of its light-emitting diode provide 2% resolution and accuracy indication of the loop’s value, and can be scaled within 30% of its factory setting of 0–100% via the front panel zero and span pots. Compatible with 1⁄4 DIN and switchboard cutouts, the device is available in four grades — industrial, nuclear, intrinsically safe and to specific Mil-specs.
