www.newageindustries.comLined PVC Tubing
This tubing combines the flexibility and durability of its polyvinyl chloride (PVC) exterior with the unique properties of its Hytrel thermoplastic polyester elastomer lining. A molecular bond between the two materials makes them inseparable. The tubing offers low permeability to refrigerant gases and hydrocarbons and resists ozone and moisture. The Hytrel liner resists chemical attack and particulate buildup. The black PVC jacket insulates the tubing from electronic interference, provides flexibility, and imparts shock, abrasion, and UV resistance. The tubing is useful in applications where different performance is needed for the inside and outside of the tube, such as Hytrel’s oil resistance in a harsh environment where the durability of PVC is required. It is manufactured from FDA-approved ingredients and is odorless, tasteless, and inert, making it appropriate for food-contact applications. Other uses include air sampling, propane gas delivery, and general fluid transfer, as well as in the manufacture of computer equipment, appliances, vending machines, and lawn and garden equipment. Standard stock sizes are 0.170 in., 1/4 in., and 3/8 in. I.D., and custom sizes and cut-to-length pieces are available. The company also stocks fittings and clamps that mate with Hytrel-lined PVC
Heat-Formed Tubing and Hose
With a heat-formed shape, only one part is needed instead of separate pieces that must be bent around or threaded through other equipment and machinery. This reduces the need for extra fittings and clamps and minimizes spare-parts inventory, and virtually eliminates the potential for leaks. Installation is faster and easier because fewer connections are required, and the lack of cumbersome fittings and clamps allows these systems to be used in restricted-space applications. Numerous shapes can be produced, from single elbows and curves to parts involving coiled sections, flared ends, and multiple twists and bends. Materials that can be heat-formed include polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyurethane, nylon, and other thermoplastics. Both unreinforced tubing and braid-reinforced hose may be used.
Silbrade silicone hoses
Silbrade silicone hoses are reinforced with open-mesh polyester braiding so they can handle high-pressure applications. This construction allows the hoses to be used in tight, restricted spaces without impediments to flow. The hoses handle steady or fluctuating temperatures between –80°F and 350°F (–62°C and 176°C). Each hose is made from FDA-sanctioned ingredients and is listed by the National Sanitation Foundation for use with food equipment materials (NSF 51). It is odorless, tasteless, unaltered by the effects of weather, and generally exhibits inertness to UV light, radiation, and ozone.
Thermobarb plastic barbed fittings
Thermobarb plastic barbed fittings are available in nylon, polyethylene, polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), and polypropylene, and are suitable for multi-use and single-use/disposable applications. They are used in original equipment manufacturer (OEM), chemical, food and beverage, appliance, packaging, laboratory, and many other applications and settings. They are lightweight and compact, and their design uses multiple barbs to provide a secure connection. They offer excellent chemical resistance, durability, and high impact strength. Available styles include adapters, straight connectors, Y’s, tees, elbows, reducers, hose nipples, and more. Features vary depending on the choice of plastic: nylon resists physical stress and abrasion; polyethylene performs best at relatively low temperatures; PVDF is better at handling higher temperatures and pressures; polypropylene is resistant to chemicals and solvents. The single-use style is suitable for disposable tubing assemblies for pharmaceutical and medical applications. It is made from FDA-approved polypropylene and meets U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP) Class VI and RoHS standards, and can be sterilized by autoclave or gamma radiation. All fittings work with soft-walled tubing, such as polyvinyl chloride, silicone, polyurethane, and thermal plastic rubber, and are in stock for same-day or just-in-time shipment. Most styles come in sizes ranging from 0.25 in. through 1.0-in. inner dia.
Clear-40 rigid PVC pipe
Clear-40 is the brandname of a rigid PVC pipe made to Schedule 40 dimensions that allows users to see the contents. The pipe combines the corrosion and chemical resistance, and clarity of PVC with the advantage of a rigid tube that does not need ties or clamps to hold it upright or level. Clear-40 may be used interchangeably with Schedule 40 fittings of gray or white color. All ingredients are non-toxic and conform to FDA standards for use with food-contact surfaces. Stocked sizes range from 1/4 to 4 in. Custom options include bell-shaped ends and Schedule 80 dimensions.
PVC and Polyurethane Tubing and Hose
To help users understand the critical differences between the performance properties of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polyurethane, this chart presents at a glance the association standards that the materials meet (FDA, NSF, 3A, Class VI), hardness, tensile strength, operating temperatures, working and burst pressures, colors, weather resistance, custom options, and more. It lists the sizes stocked by the company, the forms of products available (e.g., unreinforced tubing, reinforced hose), and the grades for particular uses.
