M-110Y Microfluidizer Processor
Designed for cell disruption, formulation development and other fluid processing applications, the M-110Y Microfluidizer processor is a pneumatic bench top version, while the M-110EH is a plug-in electric-hydraulic floor model on wheels. The M-110Y maximizes the energy-perunit fluid volume insuring the generation of uniform, submicron particle and droplet sizes. Process pressures are highly variable and reproducible, ranging from a low of 1,500 psi to a high of 23,000 psi. Available options include a NIST traceable pressure transducer and thermocouple and accessories allowing pressurized sample feed. With process pressures ranging from 2,500 to 25,000 psi, the M- 110EH is equipped with a single acting intensifier pump that amplifies the hydraulic pressure at the simple turn of a knob. The unit drives the product through the interaction chamber at a constant pressure. Options include a small volume configuration capable of processing samples as small as 25 mL and an explosion- proof version for operation in hazardous environments.
M-7250-20 Microfluidizer processor
The M-7250-20 Microfluidizer processor is configured for cell disruption applications. Achieving product flowrates of up to 400 L/h, the processor comes equipped with a product feed pump and heat exchanger. The M-7250-20 is delivered with a standard PLC-based, password protected controls design that utilizes a human-machine interface (HMI). Process and data management is under the control of GE Fanuc Automation’s iFIX supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system. The software architecture follows GAMP 4 guidelines for automated controls in bioprocessing, assuring customers of easy, successful validation. The processor is able to store all acquired data in a secure database (SQL). Report generation for batch records is included.
Aseptic M-7250CP constant-pressure system
Designed for use in the biopharmaceutical industry, the Aseptic M-7250CP constant-pressure system is a premium Microfluidizer processor that incorporates new system architecture and is able to integrate machine controls, functions and data recording onto a single common platform. Standard features include a Yokogawa data acquisition station (DAQ) that continuously monitors temperature, pressure and flow, enabling users to easily and cost-effectively record and print digital testing data. Additionally, the system offers steam-in-place (SIP) for aseptic processing of drugs in a cGMP environment, and ultra-clean-in-place (UCIP) that eliminates the need for disassembly for cleaning between batches or before storage. A programmable logic controller (PLC) manages on-board sensor signals and coordinates audio-visual alarms, operator acknowledgment and motor control interlocks. In the event that an operating parameter is out of tolerance, the embedded controller will manage the signal processing. In addition, the PLC coordinates these signals in conjunction with the data recorder to provide the customer with an event log detailing testing data. This enhances the batch record keeping function and aligns with the requirements of GAMP4 guidelines.
M-110P Microfluidizer processor
The plug-and-play M-110P Microfluidizer processor operates reliably, quietly and efficiently at process pressures up to 30,000 psi. It requires only a standard electrical outlet and can be easily incorporated into any laboratory setting. It is a benchtop machine that requires no compressed air or cooling water for hydraulics. The processor uses the manufacturer’s fixed-geometry diamond interaction-chamber tech_nology and a ceramic plunger, enabling the production of nanosuspensions and nanoemulsions, as well as liposomal encapsulation and cell disruption, with relatively few passes. It handles flowrates of 110–115 mL/min, depending on process pressure. This flowrate allows for efficient processing of pharmaceutical formulations, fine chemicals, and biological materials.
