The heart of the CINTAC Advanced Automation System is a rugged, field-proven rack-and-pinion actuator with ISO 5211 interface for compatibility with any quarter-turn valve. Position sensing is done by a contact-free magnetic resistive sensor with no mechanical parts or connections to wear out or bind. The unit is completely sealed and protected from corrosion and short-circuiting due to moisture. Leak-free integral air porting further improves the unit’s reliability by eliminating crimping or bending of tubing, leaking fittings, and worn or broken hoses. The CINTAC system operates at temperatures ranging from –4°F to 150°F (a low-temperature option to –40°F is also available), and pressures to 120 psi. It is available as non-incendive for general purpose and Class I and II, Div. 2 applications; explosionproof for Class I and II, Div. 1 and 2 areas; or instrinsically safe for Class I and II, Div. 1 and 2 areas using IS wiring.
Neles RotaryGlobe control valve
The Neles RotaryGlobe small-bore control valve can operate cost-effectively at pressures up to ASME 1500 class. Its rotary motion provides superior containment of fugitive emissions, reducing the risk of explosion and injury. The valve is designed so the thrust bearing is not in contact with the process fluid, thus avoiding the corrosion problems that often occur when hard particles are present in the flow. The valve is suitable for use with virtually all liquids, gases and vapors, both in general and high-pressure applications in the petrochemicals, refining, oil and gas, pulp and paper, and biofuels industries.
Valvcon ADC low-temperature actuators
Valvcon ADC low-temperature actuators are suitable for remote solar-powered installations and for on/off duty and proportional applications where extreme cold temperatures exist. These rugged, compact, quarter-turn electric actuators have an operating temperature range down to –40ºF without requiring an internal heater. The battery can be automatically recharged at temperatures as low as –20ºF and has an operating life of up to 5 yr. The actuators can handle torque requirements up to 3,000 in.-lb, yet they weigh only 31 lb. Standard features include hardened-steel gears, standard ISO 5211 mounting interfaces, stall protection, and a sleep/wake mode to preserve battery power. Optional features include control packages, an electronic holding brake, serial I/O capability, and fully adjustable switches. The inclusion of signal-fail position options, switch-selectable power loss position, onboard manual control, and battery status indicator can save time during both set-up and general maintenance.
Valvcon ADC addressable actuators
Valvcon ADC addressable actuators have RS-485 communications, and offer support diagnostics, local override control, and constant battery-charge monitoring. They provide quarter-turn operation and can meet torque requirements up to 3,000 in.-lb in a total package weight of only 31 lb. The RS-458 communication capability offers high data-transmission speeds of 35 Mbits/s for distances up to 10 m, and 100 kbits/s at 1,200 m., and they can be readily adapted to communicate cycle times, torque characteristics over time, and environmental operating temperatures. Each standard actuator features hardened-steel gears, standard ISO 5211 mounting interfaces, stall protection, and a sleep/wake mode to preserve battery power. They are available in NEMA 4, 4X, 7 and 9 enclosures.
