The FPI Mag electromagnetic flowmeter is the successor to the company’s widely used Multi-Mag insertion flowmeter, which is said to be the industry’s only multi-electrode, hot-tap, full-profile insertion flowmeter that can deliver a continuous total flow profile similar to that of a full-bore mag meter. Its multi-electrode sensor design compensates for variable flow profiles, including swirl, turbulence, and low-flow conditions. Multiple electrodes placed across the entire sensor body continuously measure and report the average flowrate over the full pipe diameter. It is suitable for use in process water and effluent waste-water applications in the chemical, electric power, food-and-beverage, oil-and-gas, metals-and-mining, and pulp-and-paper industries. The insertion-style device is packaged in Type 316 stainless steel for maximum structural integrity, and the sensor is coated with a fusion-bonded epoxy coating to ensure operational longevity in rugged plant environments. Hot-tap installation requires no service interruption for cutting pipe or welding flanges, reducing installation costs. It is available for line sizes from 4 in. to 138 in., and features accuracy of ±1% of reading. It is precalibrated to NIST standards and requires no recalibration in the field.
V-Cone Chem Processing
The V-Cone Chem Processing flowmeter supports a wide range of both chemical production process line and general plant applications, including measuring water, other mixed liquids or specialty gas flows within process lines, as well as plant systems for water/wastewater, chilled water, steam, natural gas and HVAC. It features an advanced differential-pressure flow sensor designed with built-in flow conditioning to achieve an accuracy of ±0.5%, with a repeatability of ±0.1. The device operates over a flow range of 10:1, and comes in line sizes from 0.5 to 120 in. With its unique ability to self-condition flow, the V-Cone flowmeter is a space-saver, eliminating the need for upstream or downstream straight pipe runs required by other DP technologies, such as orifice plates and venturi tubes. It can be installed virtually anywhere in a piping system or be easily retrofit into an existing piping layout, resulting in significant installation flexibility and initial cost savings.
A–Z Flowmeter CD
The latest edition of the “A–Z Flowmeter CD” is a comprehensive tool designed to help engineers select the best flow instrument to meet their process requirements. It contains Flash application presentations for the V2-Municipal and Ultra Mag flowmeters, as well as a complete technical library that includes data for the V-Cone, Wafer-Cone, Mc Propeller Meter, and Water Specialties Propeller Meter product lines.
Marsh Single-Mag flowmeter
Capable of handling demanding water flow measurements, the Marsh Single-Mag flowmeter requires little maintenance and is easy to install and use. Equipped with a unique electromagnetic technology, the device serves in pressurized line applications from 2 in. to 96 in. It has a flow accuracy of ±2% of reading and operates over a wide flow range, from –5 to 20 ft/s. The Single-Mag provides a reliable 4–20-mA analog output signal for monitoring and alarming. The flowmeter can also measure pressures up to 250 psi and temperatures up to 160°F in stainless steel pipes. It can be used in a wide range of applications in conductive and harsh fluids, including chemical-laden flows, slurries and sludges.
V2 System flowmeter
When installed, the V2 System flowmeter requires less straight-run piping than conventional flowmeters. Suitable for a wide range of industrial process and wastewater applications, the system accommodates line sizes from 4 in. to 18 in., wherever irregular or crowded piping and equipment conditions make other flow technologies impractical or unworkable. The flowmeter measures over a wide flow range from 40 to 7,500 gal/min.
V-Cone flowmeter
Rugged and accurate, the all-purpose V-Cone flowmeter is ideal for many industrial processes, but especially those that separate gritty oil sands. Since large amounts of water and energy are required for mining tar sands, reliable flowmeters are crucial in controlling and optimizing extraction, separation and upgrading. This unit can operate in extreme process environments, such as measuring in dirty liquid, natural gas or steam media.
Wafer-Cone flowmeter
The Wafer-Cone flowmeter features a modular design that allows users to replace the flow element in order to adapt the device to changing flow conditions in dynamic processes. It uses differential pressure technology with built-in flow conditioning to achieve an accuracy of ±0.5% and a repeatability of ±0.1%. The pressure difference between the static line pressure and the low pressure downstream at the cone is measured via two pressure-sensing taps, and is then used with a derivation of the Bernoulli equation to calculate the fluid flowrate. The flowmeter is designed for liquid or gas service and is available in line sizes from 0.5 in. to 6.0 in., which makes it suitable for use in natural gas wells and in small process lines. A self-conditioning-flow feature eliminates the need for the extensive upstream/downstream straight pipe runs that are required by similar technologies, such as orifice plates and venturi tubes. The meter can be installed independently anywhere in a piping system.
