www.honeywell.comHydroBlock films
The industrial-grade line of HydroBlock films provides a high level of moisture protection. In addition to high clarity and strength, the fluoropolymer material offers excellent resistance to chemicals, low temperatures, odors, and ultraviolet light, making it suitable for outdoor use. The film is composed of polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE), and is not intended for use in food or medical applications.
Virtualized Process Control System
For many manufacturers, the process control environment requires separate servers to support different applications. Virtualization resolves this issue by allowing a single server to simultaneously run multiple operating systems and applications. This improves reliability by insulating these operating systems from hardware changes. This company now offers virtualization support for its core product line (Experion Process Knowledge System), for both DCS and SCADA applications. This helps industrial facilities reduce PC hardware requirements and simplify overall system management and improve availability, reliability, and disaster recovery.
Aclar UltRx 6000 film
The Aclar UltRx 6000 film protects sensitive medicines from moisture in hot and humid climates, allowing pharmaceutical producers to standardize their product packaging with a single packaging film that will work in all regions of the world. This clear film can also help reduce drug package sizes by up to 55% compared with traditional cold-formed foil. Aclar UltRx 6000 is a 6-mil, 152-mm thermoformable film that is biochemically inert, chemical resistant, nonflammable, and plasticizer- and stabilizer-free, and it provides extremely low moisture vapor transmission rates.
Business FLEX200
Business FLEX200 is an updated version of this company’s manufacturing execution system (MES) software. Designed to help facilities link process automation and production schedules, the software supports international versions of Windows and provides tools to translate user interfaces into local languages. The supplier says the software can boost production by 3–6% and lower costs by 2–3%.
PowerShield PV325
The PowerShield PV325 is a reflective white material that protects photovoltaic (PV) solar cells, and all their sunlight-to-electricity conversion components, from such tough conditions as humid environments. PV modules typically have a 25-yr lifespan and must serve as a reliable energy source that offsets high-peak electrical demands and costs. PowerShield has a five-layer design that includes two outer protective layers based on ethylene-chlorotrifluoroethylene (ECTFE) fluoropolymer film and a core polyethylene terephtalate (PET) layer, as well as two inner bonding layers of proprietary adhesive materials. It provides a suitable alternative to the polyvinyl-backed materials commonly used as coatings today.
Uniformance Process Studio
Uniformance Process Studio’s user-friendly interface facilitates process performance analysis in workflow management applications. It builds trend graphs and graphics, without requiring extensive personnel training and manual configuration. This software is designed to be used with the manufacturer’s Uniformance PHD (performance history database), which gathers critical data from equipment and instrumentation located throughout a plant. With Process Studio, engineers can easily perform trend analysis by selecting tags from the PHD and using the drag-and-drop function to insert them into a trend graph or table. Other commonly used options, such as selecting trend times and sampling methods, can be accessed through drop-down menus. The software provides a variety of trend styles, including single scales, XY-correlations and histograms. The multi-trend view displays the status of numerous trends, enabling engineers to monitor the state of several processes or pieces of equipment at once.
