The ST75 mass flowmeter is designed to measure fuel gases, specialty gases, and pneumatic air flow in gas compressors. It is available for line sizes from 0.25 in. to 2.0 in. (6–51 mm), and provides three distinct outputs: mass flowrate, totalized flow, and media temperatures. The ability to gather such data enables compressor operators to evaluate compressor performance and make adjustments to maximize operating efficiency and reduce costs. The ability to compare the performance of multiple gas compressors also supports predictive maintenance, since higher flowrates often indicate leaking valves or seals. The ST75 includes temperature compensation to ensure performance under variable process and plant temperature conditions. The device operates over a wide flow range, from 0.01 scfm to 559 scfm (0.01–950 ncmh), and offers accuracy to ±1% of reading and ±0.5% repeatability. Its precision flow element has no moving parts; rather, its platinum resistance temperature detector (RTD) sensors are embedded in equal-mass thermowells with microprocessor electronics that can be calibrated to laboratory standards for CO2 and other gases.
VeriCal in situ calibration verification system
The VeriCal in situ calibration verification system for gas and flare flow-meters enables technicians to confirm flow measurement accuracy in minutes — saving time and reducing operating costs. The system allows for the verification of flowmeter calibration without removing the meter from the pipe or process. It is suitable for flare gas applications in offshore oil and gas production and refining, as well as other applications where periodic validation of flowmeter calibration is required by the process or environmental regulations. The system combines a specially manufactured and plumbed air/gas flow element with electronics that feed and measure a precise flow of gas from a nitrogen source. During flowmeter testing, the nitrogen is fed through the meter’s flow element and measured against five benchmark measurement points across the meter’s range. The in situ flowmeter test data are then compared to original laboratory calibration and installation benchmark test data for the meter. The verification also provides a secondary benefit of cleaning the flow element sensors, which helps ensure performance and reduces the need for routine maintenance.
FS10A Flow Switch/Monitor
The FS10A Flow Switch/Monitor continuously verifies flows within liquid or gas process analyzer sampling systems. Depending on the selected configuration, its flow range is 0.1–20 std. ft3/h (50–10,000 cm3/min) in air or 0.001–0.03 gal/min (4–100 cm3/min) in water. Its design features no moving parts, which eliminates the risk of fouling or clogging and reduces maintenance requirements. Unlike capillary bypass flowmeters and controllers, this device has no cavities, orificies or dead-legs that trap fluids and contaminate samples. Its corrosion-resistant wetted parts are made from Type 316L stainless steel with Hastelloy-C sensor tips. It is suitable for use in gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, optical spectrometry, and photometry systems.
ST75V air/gas flowmeter
In a space-saving and cost-effective design, the ST75V air/gas flowmeter takes highly accurate and reliable mass-flow readings for hydrogen, natural gas and other gases commonly used in chemical processing, electric power, food and beverage, and oil and gas applications. Built-in flow conditioning eliminates media disturbances and reduces pipe straight-run needs by up to 70%, thus making the meter ideal for applications with limited space or configured with insufficient upstream/downstream straight-pipe run.
FLT flow switch
The FLT (flow/level/temperature) flow switch reliably monitors the flow and temperature of liquids, gases, slurries, lubricants, and other fluids to provide wet/dry detection and pump protection from damage due to sudden, unexpected reductions in flowrates. The FLT flow switch has a dual-alarm capability. Alarm 1 provides a pre-warning signal with the detection of low-flow situations between 0.01 and 3 ft/s, allowing the control system or operator to determine whether to keep the pump running or shut it down. When the feed line to the pump begins to run dry, Alarm 2 activates as an emergency signal to shut down the pump immediately to avoid over-heating and subsequent damage. The flow switch can be specified in either insertion or in-line styles for pipe or tube installation.
ST50 and ST75 flowmeters
The ST50 and ST75 flowmeters are now available with a wireless communication option. Featuring built-in infrared technology and a standard personal data assistant (PDA), field technicians can obtain measurements, make setting changes, and read troubleshooting codes without opening the instrument. The wireless capability makes the flowmeters ideal for hard-to-reach locations or where opening the instrument is inconvenient or labor intensive. The ST50 is an insertion-style mass flowmeter designed for air, compressed-air or nitrogen flow measurements in line sizes ranging from 2 in. to 24 in. (51 mm to 610 mm). The ST75 is a direct mass flowmeter designed for air- or gas-measurement in smaller line sizes, from 0.25 in. to 2 in. (6 mm to 51 mm).
“Pulp and Paper Industry Flow Guide”
The 8-page “Pulp and Paper Industry Flow Guide” offers advice on air, gas and liquid measurement, monitoring and control using the company’s thermal dispersion mass-flow technology. It describes the no-moving-parts, fully temperature-compensated sensor design and outlines the instruments’ benefits.
ST and GF series thermal-dispersion mass flowmeters
Flowrate or temperature readings from the firm’s ST and GF series thermal-dispersion mass flowmeters can be displayed remotely on the DM10, a loop-powered readout meter that can be inserted anywhere in the flowmeter’s 4–20-mA output loop. Measuring 3.15 in. high by 5.51 in. wide by 2.56 in. deep, the DM10 is scalable to ±1,999 digits and features oversized 1-in.-high characters for easy viewing.
CM Series Coriolis Flowmeters
Capable of accurate flow measurement in line sizes up to 12 in. and at flowrates up to 80,000 lb/min, the new CM Series Coriolis flowmeters are ideal for applications ranging from clean fluids to the harshest of chemicals. From acids, juices to corrosives, argon to chlorine, hydrogen to ammonia, or even phosgene, the CM Series has a compatible choice of standard wetted parts. In addition to Type 316 stainless steel and Hastelloy, choices include tantalum, Monel, nickel, titanium, carbon steel, zirconium and more. The CM Series is designed with a leadingedge Coriolis flow sensor and superior mechanical isolation to eliminate vibration effects, enhance measurement accuracy and minimize installation cost. Its flow sensor’s thick-pipe-wall construction can handle pressures as high as 13,000 psig. Standard accuracy ranges from ±0.1% to ±0.15% of rate.
