AutoBlend Complex Mixtures Generator
The AutoBlend Complex Mixtures Generator is a multi-channel, computer-controlled blending system that uses permeation tubes to create trace concentration gas mixtures. Component concentrations can be independently varied, rendering the instrument ideal for sensor testing and methods validation. During operation, the permeation tubes that are installed in each channel emit a small, precisely known flow of each component compound. The computer system controls the proportionate combination of flow from the various channels with a precisely controlled carrier-gas dilution flow to form the mixture for each channel. Mixtures containing up to 48 compounds can be dry or humidified in nature, and delivered at pressures up to 20 psig. The concentration of each component in a mixture is traceable to NIST through physical standards.

Flexeramic structured packing
Designed for acid applications, Flexeramic structured packing provides a lower pressure drop than most other random packings and trays on the market. Composed of corrugated ceramic sheets that are vertically aligned in the packed column, the elements eliminate any horizontal surfaces that may create resistance to fluid flow. This geometric construction reduces the channeling of both liquid and vapor, and provides for more effective contact of sulfuric acid and sulfur trioxide gas. This increased efficiency offers improvements in moisture removal from incoming air, which minimizes the opportunity for SO3 slip along the absorber wall. Substituting this packing in standard packed or tray columns can achieve a pressure drop decrease of up to 60% and improve efficiency by 2%, resulting in lower energy costs for most distillation and absorption operations.

Icewave Version 1.1
Having acquired Fluent, a provider of computational fluid dynamics, and its Icewave and Icepack technologies, this company has released Version 1.1 of Icewave. For analysis of electromagnetic compatibility and interference (EMC/EMI) in electronic systems, the new version features a 64-bit solver that allows users to solve complex systems without being restricted by memory limitations of 32-bit operating systems. Through seamless sharing of the model geometry with Icepak thermal design software, EM-thermal co-simulation can be set up in several minutes, making engineering workflows that require thermal and EM analyses easier. This capability allows system designers of high-performance electronics systems to dramatically reduce time from concept to market by simulating electronic design in a single CAD environment. The shielding effectiveness of the investigated models may be calculated on demand. The introduction of surface impedance boundary conditions for coatings and resistive wires allows users to model finite-thickness conductor losses in high-frequency simulations.

Venturi scrubber
This Venturi scrubber efficiently removes submicron dust particles from gases with temperatures up to 230ºC (450ºF) at the inlet. A quencher added to the inlet accommodates higher-temperature gas streams. The scrubbing liquid is introduced through open pipes — not nozzles — into the Venturi throat. This route ensures uniform liquid distribution, eliminating wet-dry line buildup in the fully wetted section. Dust-laden gas and scrubbing liquid collide in the throat, dispersing the liquid into drops on which the particles impact and become trapped. An optional adjustable throat allows flexible operation with varying flow rates or dust concentrations. An entrainment separator efficiently removes droplets from the gas stream. An integral recycle tank is optional. The outlet may be either vertical or horizontal.
