HRC Advanced (HRC-A)
A new in-situ technology, HRC Advanced (HRC-A), time-releases a combination of highly efficient lactic and fatty acids that enhance the near-, mid- and long-term biodegradation of many chlorinated and other contaminants, including industrial degreasers, chlorofluorocarbons, carbon tetrachloride, methylene chloride and a variety of pesticides, explosives and dyes. HRC-A is shipped as a concentrate and mixed onsite with three parts warm water to form a micellular microemulsion, which has greater soil-coverage capacity than comparable products. As the solution is pumped throughout an aquifer, it slowly releases lactic acid, which is fermented by naturally occurring bacteria. The hydrogen that is released accelerates the biodegradation processes and reduction of the target contaminants to harmless end-products.

ORC Advanced
ORC Advanced, an oxygen release compound technology, stimulates in situ aerobic bioremediation of groundwater contaminated with petroleum-based hydrocarbons (e.g., methyl tertiary butyl ether, diesel fuel, jet fuel, gas condensates, fuel oils, lubricants, vinyl chloride, etc.). It is supplied as a nontoxic, environmentally benign powder that is mixed with water to form an injectable slurry, which is then pumped into the subsurface contamination zone with readily available direct-injection equipment. Contact with groundwater causes the material, over a period of months, to gradually release molecular oxygen, which is then used by naturally occurring microbial populations to flourish and rapidly degrade or break down the contaminants into harmless endproducts. ORC Advanced offers maximal, sustained oxygen release for up to 12 months on a single injection.

MultiPhase BioSystem
The MultiPhase BioSystem is capable of controlling volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from virtually all sources. A practical alternative to thermal oxidizers, in-bed biofiltration systems, and aerobic digestion, it combines characteristics of an in-bed bioscrubber and aerobic digestion with the high removal efficiency of micron-scale mist scrubbing. It treats high inlet concentrations of VOC emissions, including such alcohols as methanol and other high-vapor-pressure compounds, as well as more difficult turpenes and pinenes. The system can be sited close to the emission source, which minimizes cost and duct complexity. It can be installed as a tower with a small footprint, as well as in other configurations to meet a facility’s space constraints. The system provides high removal rates for high particulate concentrations and heavy loadings of biological treatment products without clogging media beds. Its media is permanent, eliminating the need to replace either the media or the packing.

S-PRO-S
The S-PRO-S combines a bursting disk and sensor into a single assembly, eliminating additional tri-clamp ferrules needed to install a separate sensor. When the disk bursts, the sensor’s circuit is broken, triggering activation of an alarm. With quick alarm detection, bursting disks can be replaced and overpressure situations corrected with a minimum of process downtime. The S-PRO-S is ideal for use in sanitary services. Placement of the sensor and disk scoring on the vent side present a smooth surface to the process, minimizing product build up. A non-fragmenting design prevents contamination from rupture disk pieces entering the process after bursting. The uni-body system is able to withstand full vacuum (14.7 psi) without a separate vacuum support. Available in a wide range of sizes from 1 in. to 4 in., the S-PRO-S sensor and disk are wellsuited for applications in a broad range of burst pressures (from 16 to 150 psig).

A15/81 system
The conventional method for measuring sulfide concentrations in water is to use analyzers that employ selective ion electrodes (SIE) for sensing. While providing adequate sensitivity, poor-quality samples make fouling of the analytical system a major concern. The A15/81 system overcomes this problem by employing a polagraphic H2S gas sensor that never comes into contact with the sample; only the gas stream containing the stripped H2S reaches the sensor. The device provides extremely high measurement sensitivity down to low parts-per-billion levels.

Flexeramic structured packing
Designed for acid applications, Flexeramic structured packing provides a lower pressure drop than most other random packings and trays on the market. Composed of corrugated ceramic sheets that are vertically aligned in the packed column, the elements eliminate any horizontal surfaces that may create resistance to fluid flow. This geometric construction reduces the channeling of both liquid and vapor, and provides for more effective contact of sulfuric acid and sulfur trioxide gas. This increased efficiency offers improvements in moisture removal from incoming air, which minimizes the opportunity for SO3 slip along the absorber wall. Substituting this packing in standard packed or tray columns can achieve a pressure drop decrease of up to 60% and improve efficiency by 2%, resulting in lower energy costs for most distillation and absorption operations.

Venturi scrubber
This Venturi scrubber efficiently removes submicron dust particles from gases with temperatures up to 230ºC (450ºF) at the inlet. A quencher added to the inlet accommodates higher-temperature gas streams. The scrubbing liquid is introduced through open pipes — not nozzles — into the Venturi throat. This route ensures uniform liquid distribution, eliminating wet-dry line buildup in the fully wetted section. Dust-laden gas and scrubbing liquid collide in the throat, dispersing the liquid into drops on which the particles impact and become trapped. An optional adjustable throat allows flexible operation with varying flow rates or dust concentrations. An entrainment separator efficiently removes droplets from the gas stream. An integral recycle tank is optional. The outlet may be either vertical or horizontal.

StarLite-SM safety eyewear
Since one-size-fits-all usually leaves out a few people, the smaller StarLite-SM safety eyewear has been specially designed for smaller, narrower faces. This version is 10% smaller than the classic StarLite models, but still provides exceptional impact protection, durability, superior optical quality, and a fashionable design. Its scratch-resistant polycarbonate lenses, which are available in clear, gray, clear anti-fog, and mirror finish, filter out more than 99.9% of harmful UV-A and UV-B rays. For a proper fit, safety glasses must touch the face at the nose bridge and behind each ear, and rest firmly on top of the nose and close to, without touching, the face itself. With appropriate size and comfort, the eyewear will be less of an irritation to users, leaving them more likely to be able to wear the eye protection for longer periods of time.

Self-Cleaning Rotary Drum Screen
This self-cleaning rotary drum screen separates solid debris from wastewater at high rates while using little energy. It contains a rotating cylinder constructed of wedge-wire screen with a stationary blade (called a doctor blade) on the outside of the cylinder and an internal spray line. Effluent from a head box overflows a dam and flows onto the outside of the rotating cylinder. This allows water to pass through the wedge wire into the cylinder, where the doctor blade scrapes sludge and debris collected on the outside of the cylinder and an internal spray line dislodges particles blinding the screen. The separator is suitable for use in sewage treatment, pulp-and-paper, pelletizing, and many other applications that require solids to be removed from high-volume slurries. Containing few moving parts and taking up little floor space, the separator also has low investment, operating and maintenance costs. Available models include 24-in.-dia. drums with lengths of 24, 36, 48, 50 and 72 in., and 36-in.-dia. drums with 96- and 120-in.-lengths. Capacities range from 200 to 1,000 gal/min.
