The Magmax
The Magmax Total Containment pump now comes with a 5-yr warranty. The Magmax has a unique drive format, combining the total containment of a canned-motor pump with the simplicity of a magnet drive. True synchronous speeds of 3,000 rev/min (50Hz) or 3,600 rev/min (60Hz) enable these pumps to give greatly improved efficiency, resulting in lower power costs. The pump is said to be the first direct-on-line start (DOL) synchronous motor, and has comprehensive protection with motor thermistors, power control monitor and vapor detector.

VentGuard Dessicant Breather Filters
Ideal for small to mid-size ANSI and API pumps, the VentGuard dessicant breather filters offer superior protection, helping to maximize the mean time between failures (MTBF) and optimize production output. Two products are included in the initial rollout, the VentGuard VG-1 and the VentGuard VG-4. The VG-1 is a simple, yet effective miniature breather model that incorporates desiccant and filtration media. The VG-4 is a hybrid technology breather that incorporates the drying capability of a desiccant, the cleaning capability of a 3μ- filter media, and the sealing capability of an expansion chamber. By combining these proven technologies, the VG-4 eliminates ingression of dirt and water through vent ports.

ARHT Thermoplastic Material
The newest member to this firm’s wear-resistant thermoplastic family, ARHT, provides outstanding chemical, thermal shock and impact resistance, making it an ideal replacement for rubber, bronze and ceramic materials in extreme conditions. This proprietary thermoplastic material is specifically for use as bearings, bushings and wear rings. In pumps handling abrasive media up to 250ºF (121ºC), ARHT reduces clearances and increases mean time between failure (MTBF) when starting at these reduced clearances. Billet sizes range from diameters of 1 in. to 33 in. with lengths up to 8 in.

Pumps Feature Thrust-Pod Bearing Design
These pumps feature an oil-lubricated “thrust-pod” bearing design that is operator-friendly. Problems with over-greasing or under-greasing the bearing are eliminated and oil level is easily confirmed with a visual inspection of the constant-level oiler. The higher thrust capacity of the thrust-pod allows the mechanical seals to operate near suction pressure and at lower temperatures, reducing seal-pressure velocity values substantially. In applications with this design, the need for magnetic drives or wet-stator motors is eliminated.

Mechanical Seal RG-5
Specially developed for operation in corrosion-resistant, plastic-lined process pumps, the stationary, mechanical seal RG-5 is primarily used when a secure sealing of solid-containing or crystallizing liquids is required. On the wetted side, the RG-5 is metal-free. Silicon-carbide sealing elements make it resistant against chemicals and wear and tear. Its sealing chamber is permanently flushed thanks to a specifically designed housing back plate with wide open distance around the sealing surface. Compared to conventional stationary chemical seals, the RG-5 requires just a fraction of effort for installation and servicing.

Portable SmartBalancer
The portable SmartBalancer identifies unbalance conditions, determines the state of balance and takes corrective action to eliminate the unbalance condition. The batterypowered unit features an optimization program that enables unbalance vibrations to be recorded at up to four sensor positions and reduced to a minimum by balancing in one or two planes. To see if the machine needs field balancing, the analyzer performs broadband measurement of absolute bearing vibrations to compare measured values with the specified limits. The device offers FFT analysis with constant absolute bandwidth and SmartFFT with constant relative bandwidth. Rotors of almost any size or weight can be balanced without dismantling the machine.

FLENDER DS Coupling
The FLENDER DS Coupling offers a dynamic-wear inspection system that provides an effective method to inspect, measure and predict coupling wear. As the internal flexible elements wear due to unavoidable misalignment, shock loads, etc., the amount of torsional offset between the hubs can be measured by monitoring the dynamic wear indicator on the outside of the coupling. The coupling can even be inspected while in operation by monitoring the wear indicator through a clear or mesh guard with a strobe light. Other features of the non-lubricated coupling include a soft failure mode (no metal-to-metal contact) and the ability to change the flexible elements without moving the hubs or connected equipment. It is available in 19 basic sizes, up to a 7.5-in. bore and 187,000 lb-in. torque capacity.

MagTecta double-cartridge mechanical-seal bearing isolator
Designed to extend the life of rotating equipment, the MagTecta is a double-cartridge mechanical-seal bearing isolator meant to replace lip seals or labyrinth bushes. With no rubbing elastomeric parts, shaft wear or bearing moisture contamination, this bearing isolator uses modern mechanicalseal technology, including antimony-carbon against tungstencarbide seal faces. The seal is energized by magnets, instead of springs, to minimize space. The MagTecta fits into the same space as a lip seal or labyrinth seal, and provides total, hermetic bearing isolation. Also available is the MagTecta-II, which has been certified to European ATEX standards and is compatible with certain API guidelines
