Insight software
A recently upgraded software package is now available for this firm’s CEL-350 dBadge noise dosimeter. The database program uses the popular MYSQL engine to hold downloaded measurements from the CEL-350 dBadge, and it is compatible with Microsoft Vista, Windows 7 and Windows XP operating systems. The new Insight software allows users to download runs from the company’s other devices, analyzers and sampling pumps, as well. The ability to compile key measurements in a single database allows industrial hygienists to generate one comprehensive report. A data-migration program makes it easy to upgrade existing dB35 software to the Insight program and capture prior data measurements

Apex line of personal air-sampling pumps
The Apex line of personal air-sampling pumps has been expanded to include two intrinsically safe versions — the Apex Standard I.S. and the Apex Pro I.S. Fully compliant with ATEX 100 (94/9/EC) and UL 913 ANSI standards, the new versions allow occupational hygienists and specialists to carry out personal and area sampling for gases, vapors, fumes and dusts in hazardous, classified areas where potentially explosive environments may be present. When used with a low-flow adapter assembly, the pumps have flowrates between 5 and 200 mL/min. A sample of air is drawn through the tubes, which absorb solvents or vapors that are present. The tubes are then sent to a lab for analysis. Data from the pumps can be downloaded to a PC via a cable-free IR interface, and the Pump Manager software stores sample data for audits and recordkeeping. The Apex Pro programmable version can be configured with scheduled on-off sampling regimens, allowing the unit to be left onsite for automatic operation.

Microdust Pro particulate monitor
The Microdust Pro particulate monitor assesses concentrations of suspended matter over the range of 1μg/m3 to 2,500 mg/m3. Using near-forward light-scattering technology, it is suitable for tracking airborne microscopic particles, including dust, dirt, soot, mold spores, smoke and liquid droplets, in industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, and workplace exposure investigations. Its narrow scatter range of only 12–20 deg. minimizes uncertainty caused by particle color, shape and refractive index. Average, spot, and minimum or maximum concentrations can be recorded over user-defined intervals ranging from 2 s to 10 min, and an internal logger stores up to 15,700 data points over 32 separate runs. The device displays variations in dust concentration using a real-time scrolling graph on a liquid crystal display (LCD) screen. Data can be easily downloaded to a personal computer or printer using an RS-232 interface cable. The Microdust Pro comes with WinDustPro Windows-based software, which lets users create an instrument profile for specific repetitive tasks, as well as data recovery, production of history-based line-graphs, and development of tables and reports. An optical calibration filter allows the user to restore the instrument to its as-delivered condition at any time in the field.

CEL-620B sound meter
The CEL-620B wide-range (20–140 dB) integrating sound meter features real-time octave band frequency analysis from 16 Hz to 16 kHz, along with a full-color liquid crystal display that presents overall noise levels in numerical and graphical formats. It is designed to digitally measure sound levels in factories, refineries, construction sites and other industrial workplaces where noise can be a problem. It displays the previous minute’s readings, allowing the user to view trends and pinpoint significant events when levels rise above background levels. The instrument helps plant managers comply with U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
