The Type IPD chemical isolation and suppression system provides explosion protection for manufacturing plants that handle combustible powders. It features a power supply with battery backup, a monitoring module that indicates system status, a unitized sensor to detect explosion onset, and cannons that deliver a sodium bicarbonate suppression agent into the protected equipment. The cannons are compact and can be installed at any angle. The isolation system meets the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Combustible Dust National Emphasis Program, as well as the National Fire Protection Association’s NFPA 654, NFPA 68, and NFPA 69 standards.

Type IVE mechanical isolation valve
The Type IVE mechanical isolation valve prevents hot particles, glowing embers and flames from passing through interconnected piping and potentially starting a fire that spreads from one vessel to the next. The valve remains open until receiving a signal from either a pressure transmitter and/or optical sensor that detects hot particles, embers and flames. Once signaled, the valve closes within milliseconds. Actuation occurs by means of a tank of compressed air located at the valve, which ensures the fastest responsepossible. The valve features a wear indicator in the bladder, which indicates exposure to abnormal wear by dislpaying a message on the controller.
