A single L Port PTP Series 3-way polyvinyl chloride (PVC) ball valve can eliminate the need to purchase and install multiple valves, actuators, and solenoids. This saves I/O space in the control panel, reduces overhead, installation, and capital costs, and reduces the weight of the piping system, which also requires less space. With the 3-way L-port design, the valve always has an open port, even while it is in transition, so there is no chance of pump dead-heading. The company’s online configurator enables users to quickly and easily specify key aspects of the PTP Series valves — including valve size, end connections, actuator type (pneumatic or electric), and accessories (such as limit switches and solenoid valves) for a variety of applications.
FireBag thermal-activated gas-shutoff device
The FireBag thermal-activated gas-shutoff device automatically turns off a gas supply in the event of a fire, preventing explosions and limiting the spread of fire. When the outside temperature reaches the setoff temperature of 203–212°F (95–100°C), the metal alloy that keeps the plug and cartridge together melts, and the spring pressure pushes the plug against the gas opening to close it completely. No fire or heat detectors are required to ensure automatic interception of the gas flow. The housing and finishing are constructed from zinc-plated steel.
J Series solenoid valve
The J Series solenoid valve has a pilot-assist design that requires only a 3-psi differential on either side of the valve and that provides high flowrate with minimal pressure loss. To meet the needs of various applications, models are available that fail open or fail closed upon power outage. For example, a valve used on a reactor would be set to fail open to avoid pressure buildup, whereas a valve used in a filling line would fail closed. The valve’s cycle speed is 0.25 ms in either direction. The series is available in a two-way configuration in sizes of 0.375 in. to 2.0 in., with pressure ratings up to 225 psi (150 psi max for steam). Valve bodies are made from brass and have diaphragms made from BUNA (butadiene and sodium) or EPDM. End connections are female NPT (FNPT) with DIN connector coils that have a cord grip. The J Series solenoid valve is suitable for water, gas and steam applications.
4000 Series (150 or 300 ANSI) flanged ball valve
The 4000 Series (150 or 300 ANSI) flanged ball valve is available in full-port or standard-port design. The body is available in carbon steel or stainless steel, and the trim (ball and stem) in Type 316 stainless steel. The series is fire-tested to API 607 4th edition and ISO 10497, and comes with TFM (modified PTFE) seats providing excellent high-temperature performance and chemical resistance. ISO 5211 direct-mounting with adjustable packing is a unique feature of the 4000 Series product line. The valve can be equipped with a manual handle or with direct-mount pneumatic or electric actuators. The direct-mount actuators eliminate the valve-actuator mounting kit and provides a compact assembly to ease installation, while eliminating unnecessary height and expense.
