Safety IntelliPoint RF Switch
The Safety IntelliPoint RF Switch is the first radio-frequency (RF) admittance device to receive Safety Integrity Level (SIL) certification. The standard model provides overfill protection to an SIL1-certified standard. Available upgrades can qualify the switch for SIL2 certification, and adding a redundant switch can achieve an SIL3 rating. It was developed specifically for above-ground bulk storage facilities, such as tank farms, to meet the American Petroleum Institute’s 2350 Recommended Practice (RP) for overfill and spill protection. It is part of the manufacturer’s IntelliPoint series of switches that detect the presence or absence of material without calibration.
