Environmentally Friendly Filter Bags are Fully Welded
UNIBAG Series filter bags are made from low-cost, environmentally friendly materials and provide excellent retention efficiency, operational integrity and reliability. They are available in both polypropylene and polyester made from recycled fibers with no optical white additives. The top UNIRING, which features a molded seal, provides optimum sealing and eliminates bypass problems common with snap rings. This design also reduces process system contamination caused by debris passing through needle punch holes. The bags have an all-welded construction and come in sizes that fit and seal most industry standard Number 1 (7 in. × 16 in.) and Number 2 (7 in. × 32 in.) vessels.

High-Flow Filters Achieve High Purity
GORE Filters are designed for high-purity chemical processing and can be used as drop-in replacements for existing filters. They improve flow by up to 200% compared to other available filter technology — allowing users to reduce processing time or decrease the number of filters required to maintain system flow. These filters, which incorporate the manufacturer’s proprietary high-flow polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) filtration media, are suitable for high-throughput filling, packaging and recirculation systems for high-viscosity fluids, acids, bases, solvents, specialty chemicals, and other high-purity chemicals. They are available in pore-size ratings from 0.1 µm to 0.03 µm.

Three-Port Dispenser has a Reusable Chemical-Extraction System
The DrumQuik 3-port universal dispensing adaptor enables a pump to be connected to virtually any container. It is suitable for both low-flow dosing and high-flow transfer applications. Multiple materials, flow sizes and termination options are available to handle the transfer of all types of fluid media. The adaptor facilitates the connection and disconnection of multiple chemical lines in a process while minimizing chemical exposure and maintaining workplace safety. It features a 0.75-in. National Pipe Thread (NPT) male thread that mates with common drum plugs or bottle caps that have a female 0.75-in. thread. Its three ports allow liquid removal, venting or blanket gas (N2, CO2 or air for pressure dispense), and recirculation, if needed. It is available with a locking nut for bulkhead mounting applications.

Flow Conditioner Reduces Flowmeter Errors
The Westfall Model 3000 flow conditioner can be mounted directly into a piping system to resolve flow turbulence issues with minimal head loss. It has four leading tabs and four anti-swirl plates that suppress turbulence and swirl. This design achieves a fully developed velocity profile within 8 diameters downstream. It is available in sizes from 0.5 in. to 120 in. dia., and measures 2 diameters long. It is easy to install and requires almost no maintenance. It can be made from poly-vinyl chloride (PVC), fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP), Type 316 stainless steel with or without Teflon coating, or other engineering materials.

Lubricant Paste Seals Bolts
Loctite head-bolt and water-jacket sealant is a black anaerobic paste that is made for threaded fasteners, such as head bolts that penetrate into water or chemical jackets. It lubricates threads and ensures consistent torque during assembly, and it seals and locks bolts to prevent premature loosening. It also acts as an anti-seize agent, eliminating corrosion and facilitating bolt removal. It is suitable for 0.5–0.75-in.-dia. bolts with long engagement areas, such as those found on pumps, boilers, intake manifolds, thermostats, and other industrial equipment. The paste withstands temperatures from –65°F to 300°F and handles pressures of up to 10,000 psi.

Die-Bonding Materials are Reliable for High-Brightness LEDs
The KER line of silicone die-bond materials provides excellent encapsulating performance for high-brightness light emitting diodes (HBLEDs). Comprised of three key single-component, heat-cured products, the diverse series covers a broad spectrum of silicone polymer chemistry and structural composition. This makes the products particularly useful for numerous demanding HBLED packaging applications. The KER series is available in clear, opaque, and white thin-bond-line versions to minimize light absorption and maximize heat dissipation. Applications range from display equipment to backlight sources. The KER-3000-M2 formulation is nearly transparent and has excellent transmittance of UV light. The KER-3100-U2 material offers high covering power, high light reflectivity, low thermal resistance, and excellent thermal conductivity. The KER-3200-T1 adhesive has low thermal resistance and experiences little discoloration due to heat and light.

Workstations Consolidate Single-Use Equipment
FlexAct workstations simplify the conversion from stainless steel equipment or individual disposable components to integrated single-use systems, enabling biomanufacturers to use integrated disposable equipment for entire biomanufacturing steps in upstream and downstream processing. FlexAct BP is designed for the preparation of buffers that are essential for stabilizing target molecules and providing optimal production conditions. In biopharmaceutical processes, buffers (for example, sodium phosphate) are used in such operations as cultivation, fermentation, and purification to maintain pH, salt content and other parameters of biologics within a desired range. FlexAct BP is based on a multifunctional central operating module (COM) that accommodates pre-configured single-use assemblies, a pump, and a control unit. This system addresses the entire development cycle and production capacity needs from 50 L to 1,000 L for buffer preparation. The integrated controls eliminate the need for employees to continually watch the process, allowing users to multitask during buffer preparation.
