Plastic Flowmeters are Available With PVC and CPVC Bodies
P420 Series plastic, vortex-shedding flowrate transmitters have no moving parts that can stick, bind, or become coated. They can handle fluids with viscosities to 4.5 cP or 50 SUS. In certain models, wetted parts are constructed entirely of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or chlorinated PVC (CPVC) for improved heat resistance. PVC and CPVC units are available in standard pipe sizes and flowrates: 0.375 in., 6 gal/min (22.7 L/min); 0.5 in., 12 gal/min (45.0 L/min.); 0.75 in., 25 gal/min (95 L/min); 1.0 in., 50 gal/min (190 L/min); 1.5 in., 100 gal/min (380 L/min); and 2.0 in., 200 gal/min (750 L/min). The P420 models with the CPVC body and sensor transmit hot water or other fluids with a maximum operating temperature of 180°F, compared with a 140°F maximum for the PVC units.

Workshops Focus on Benchmarking and Asset Lifecycle Management
Industry experts will present free educational workshops covering plant performance benchmarking, operations and maintenance (O&M) information handover, and asset performance management (APM). The benchmarking workshop will discuss how to use industry tools to collect and report benchmarking information, and how an owner/operator can take advantage of these data and other metrics to gain a competitive edge in global markets. The O&M meeting will report on guidelines for more effective transfer of information needed for operations and maintenance. The APM session will present the company’s evolving model for APM, and will provide practical strategies for improving the operating and availability performance of assets, including physical equipment as well as “hidden assets” that drive ultimate performance.

System Combines Sample Probe And Ammonia Converter
The 270/NH3 gas sample probe and ammonia converter provides both a converted and an unconverted sample stream. This provides a way to measure the ammonia slip that is normally found at the exit of a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) unit using the dual NOx differential method. By combining the sample probe and ammonia converter, a single unit provides both filtration and conversion at the source of measurement. The device comes with an aggressive blowback (filter purging) and a calibration-gas inlet port for compliance with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations. Proper temperatures are maintained to prevent cold spots and loss of ammonia during conversion. A separate ammonia converter is also available for use with an existing sample probe.

Digital Pressure Test Gauges Feature Data Logging
BetaGauge PI and BetaGauge PI Reference Class digital pressure test gauges have been equipped with a data-logging feature and BetaLOG data-logging software. BetaLOG is an easy-to-use, low-cost application that configures the gauge to operate in download mode (computer configuration) or ad hoc demand mode (field configuration). The download operational mode allows many configuration settings, including multiple interval selection options from 1 s to 1 h, and its data-logging runs range from a few seconds to several weeks. Data can be captured at defined intervals continuously, above or below preset values, or when noise or transients in the pressure signal are detected. Six types of data can be collected: interval end, average, minimum, maximum, median, and a combination of average/minimum/maximum. Demand-mode data logging allows the user to set up and initiate data logging in the field using a keypad. The unit has a rugged stainless steel, rubber-booted housing, a durable faceplate, an IP-65 rating, and a long battery life.
