Vibratory Level Switches Take Reliable Measurements

Sitrans LVL100 and LVL200 vibratory switches indicate when the level of a liquid is sufficiently high or when a vessel needs to be refilled. They are equipped with an extremely reliable piezo actuator, and are suitable for high temperatures. If the electronics system detects damage or corrosion, the fail-safe switches trigger an alarm. The switches are compact and user-friendly, and can measure reliably even under changing conditions, such as when there are variations in the dielectric permit-tivity of a medium or upon the formation of vapor or bubbles. The Sitrans LVL100 is suitable for applications where space is limited, for pressure vessels, and for protection against flow running dry. It can be mounted vertically, horizontally or inclined, and is suitable for all pipelines with a nominal diameter of DN25 and larger. Sitrans LVL200 complies with Safety Integrity Level 2 (SIL2) and has a safety shutdown for detection of minimum/maximum levels.

These Density Meters are Explosionproof and Flameproof

Micro Motion 7835 Series density meters reduce project and installation costs in hazardous areas because they require neither barriers nor galvanic isolators. They are certified as explosionproof and flameproof, making them suitable for custody-transfer and fiscal applications in the oil and gas industries; they can also be used for routine control applications in chemical and other processing industries. The units provide high-accuracy measurements and require little maintenance. Each meter includes a vibrating element that is manufactured from Ni-Span-C (an alloy of nickel, iron, titanium and chromium), which provides excellent long-term stability and a low temperature coefficient. Other wetted parts are made of Type 316L stainless steel.

Position Sensors Replace Industrial Potentiometers

Non-contacting LP750 Series linear-position sensors have an excellent stroke-to-length ratio, making them suitable for long-stroke applications. The sensors operate at distances from 0–4 in. to 50 in., and because they can be almost the same length as the stroke, they can replace failing potentiometers in many industrial position-measurement applications, such as machine tool positioning, hydraulic cylinder positioning, valve position sensing, and automated assembly. The sensors are constructed entirely of stainless steel and are hermetically sealed to withstand the harsh and corrosive environments that are typically found in steel mills, power plants, and petrochemical plants.

Titration Analyzer Cuts Costs

The Microspec MCP-100 online real-time water-in-solvents analyzer offers considerable savings over current technologies. It can replace equipment in labs where personnel perform routine liquid-sample applications that require titration to determine the quantity of water in the sample — with the MCP-100, this measurement is performed continuously. The analyzer can be used in a wide variety of applications with water in: acrylonitrile, acrylic acid, chlorine, methylcyclohexane, hexane, acetone, panthenol, aniline, silicon oil, liquid ammonia, N-acetyl-L-cysteine, 2-methyl-5-mercaptothiadiazole, vinyl chloride, caprolactam, piperidine, piperazine, acetopenone, benzophenone, oils, pesticide formulations, urea, cyclopropl methyl ketone, lemongrass oil, diesel, gasoline, and methyl ethyl ketone peroxide. The analyzer can also be used for gas applications, such as CO2, CO, and CH.

Ultrasonic Liquid-Level Sensor Meets Fluid Measurement Challenges

The UCL-520 Series ultrasonic level sensor is a two-wire transmitter that is built with a rugged polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) transducer so it can handle ultra-pure, corrosive and waste liquids. Its 3-in. minimum beam width permits easy installation in applications with limited space, and its minimum 8-in. deadband allows the maximum amount of media to fill the tank. The sensor is push-button-calibrated with a 6-segment liquid crystal display (LCD). It is suitable for non-contact applications, such as industrial water treatment, waste-water management, and chemical storage, as well as many other challenging fluids.

Float Level Switch Operates in Various Media

FS00Z float level switches have a polypropylene housing with an integrated, water-tight and position-dependent electromechanical switch. The vertical position of the hollow float changes with the level of the liquid media, and when it reaches an angle of 45 deg. from horizontal, switching occurs. The switch point is defined by manipulating the placement of a ballast weight on a connecting cable or by inserting a cable through a tube of the desired length. The switches are suitable for monitoring liquid levels and for direct pump control, due to their high contacting rating of 10 Amps, 250V. They can be used in potable water, polluted media, and other fluids.

GPRS Modem Provides Wireless Connection

JACE-2 and JACE-6 controllers now feature a general packet radio service (GPRS) modem option that allows wireless (e.g., cellular) connection, which is useful where connectivity to an Internet service provider (ISP) is unavailable or impractical. This modem allows the controllers to be integrated with other system components via virtual private networks (VPNs) for system expansion by combining local area network / wide area network (LAN/WAN) connectivity with cellular connectivity. These features permit system integrators to provide monitoring and alarming services, monitor critical control strategies on a temporary basis, and instantly provide a controlled environment during construction before the LAN/WAN is installed.
