Lightweight Valves are Easy to Install

Butterfly valve models 56D and 75D feature rugged, molded plastic non-wetted polydi-cyclopentadiene (PDCPD) bodies with durable polypropylene or polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) discs. The discs have a spherical design that improves flow characteristics and lowers operating torque. Industry-standard ISO top-flange mounting patterns facilitate the mounting of gear operators or electric or pneumatic actuators. Wafer-style ANSI B16.5 bodies have been specially engineered to prevent over-tightening of the mating flanges during installation. The valves are available in sizes from 16 in. to 24 in. and have a pressure rating of 110 psi at 70°F.

Colloid Mills Reduce Slurry to Smooth Product

These wet-mixing mills employ new technology for precise particle size and biomass size reduction that can transform a pulpy slurry into a smooth liquid with a homogeneous viscosity. They are suitable for inline processing, and employ an abrasion-resistant milling head with a standard rotor and stator that can be customized to meet a user’s needs. The mills are capable of handling 10–10,000 gal/h throughput. They have a Type 316 stainless steel construction, and the rotors and stators are made from a proprietary hardened material that withstands abrasive slurries, and complies with 3A, USDA and FDA sanitary standards. Models are fully scalable and are offered for laboratories, pilot-plants and production facilities.

Polyethylene Storage System Handles Caustic Chemicals

This storage and dispensing system provides an easier, safer, cleaner alternative to 55-gal drums, while taking up less floor space. It is suitable for handling lubricants, cutting oils, hydraulic fluids and engine oils. The new polyethylene containers are ideal for storing caustic materials that cannot be placed in a traditional steel container, including herbicides, degreasers, water-based products, and water-treatment chemicals. The containers can be used in custom mobile lubrication carts, for which the user specifies the number of containers and their capacities, as well as the inclusion of optional pumps, hoses, nozzles and drip-pan cart bases.

Versatile Separator Holds Down Costs

This self-cleaning rotary drum screen separates solid debris from wastewater at high rates while using little energy. It contains a rotating cylinder constructed of wedge-wire screen with a stationary blade (called a doctor blade) on the outside of the cylinder and an internal spray line. Effluent from a head box overflows a dam and flows onto the outside of the rotating cylinder. This allows water to pass through the wedge wire into the cylinder, where the doctor blade scrapes sludge and debris collected on the outside of the cylinder and an internal spray line dislodges particles blinding the screen. The separator is suitable for use in sewage treatment, pulp-and-paper, pelletizing, and many other applications that require solids to be removed from high-volume slurries. Containing few moving parts and taking up little floor space, the separator also has low investment, operating and maintenance costs. Available models include 24-in.-dia. drums with lengths of 24, 36, 48, 50 and 72 in., and 36-in.-dia. drums with 96- and 120-in.-lengths. Capacities range from 200 to 1,000 gal/min.

Palletizer Automatically Loads Four Drums per Minute

The fully automatic Model EDP-500 palletizer transfers empty drums from a conveyor and stacks them onto a pallet. This air-over-electric system can handle 30- to 55-gal steel, fiber or plastic drums, placing them in a 4-, 5- or 6 drum pattern on a pallet. The system’s average load time is 4 drums per min. An automatic pallet dispenser discharges a waiting pallet. Vacuum cups lower and raise the drums, and an overhead gantry shuttles the load to the drop-off station, where it is lowered onto a waiting pallet. The palletizer features a selector switch that allows the transfer carriage to remain in the home position. Its sturdy steel components and all-welded construction provide strength and allow long-term operation.

Valve Spigot Ends Reduce Piping Deadleg

These factory-installed spigot connections minimize vertical areas within pipes that are without flow (deadleg). They are constructed of ultra-pure, corrosion-resistant polypropylene or polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), and are designed for bead and crevice-free (BCF), infrared butt-fusion, and socket fusion piping. Available sizes are dimensionally compatible with piping from major manufacturers. An optional Class 100 cleanroom and double-bagging procedure can be used for ultra-pure applications.

Hammer Mills Shatter and Disintegrate Solids

Types A, B and BX fabricated hammer mills use a series of hammer or ring blows to crush, grind and pulverize materials. They are useful for size-reduction applications involving alum cake, gypsum, limestone, salt cake, wood, and bran. Type A up-running mills feature 2-stage dual mechanical reduction, whereby the revolving hammers shatter materials upon entry, then the reduced pieces are further disintegrated by contact against the breaker plates. Type B down-running, heavy-duty mills use heavy, reversible hammers with the manufacturer’s saw-tooth breaker plate to produce uniform product. Type BX down-running, medium-duty mills feature a larger feed opening for medium-hard, lumpy or bulky materials.

Closures and Stoppers are Pure Enough to Pass USP and FDA Standards

These closures and stoppers ensure aseptic fluid transfer, sealing, filling and sampling for containers used in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical processing. Manufactured from a platinum-cured silicone that is free of animal-derived ingredients, the closures meet USP (United States Pharmacopeial) Class VI and FDA standards — i.e., they are biologically safe and suitable for use in pharmaceutical, biomedical and laboratory environments. The closures are designed for carboys, flexible container systems, solution and media bottles, and other vessels, and work well with stainless steel, glass and plastic. Both closures and stoppers are injection-molded in a clean-room environment and have a smooth finish with gap-free surfaces that produce a true seal. This also reduces cross-contamination and offers a secured environment to minimize product loss. Closures can withstand temperatures from –100°F to 400°F.
