Calorimeters are User-Friendly

The SC400 handheld calorimeters are rugged, waterproof, single-parameter instruments designed for use in laboratory and field testing. Four types are available: chlorine ( free and total); chlorine dioxide; ammonia; and fluoride. The instruments feature easy four-button operation; a large back-lit, highly visible, indigo blue display; a real-time clock; and 16-set data logging capability. These features are superior to what is offered with most price-competitive units. The system also has a user-calibration mode that permits calibration with respect to prepared standards. Using the manufacturer's Power Pack reagent chemistries, the calorimeters can be taken wherever residual values need to be monitored.

Portable Sulfuric Acid Dewpoint Monitor Maintains Boiler Efficiency

The LANCOM 200 is a portable device for oil-fired and coal-fired boilers that require periodic monitoring of the sulfuric acid dewpoint temperature to maintain boiler efficiency, prevent corrosion, or evaluate fuel additive effectiveness and changes to combustion conditions. The monitor can take a measurement in just a few minutes and store up to 10,000 readings at a time. The generated data can be used to reduce fuel additive consumption and ensure maximum operating efficiency of electrostatic precipitators, and it helps to reduce acid fallout and aerosol (blue plume) emissions.

Gas Analyzers Give Linear Responses to Concentration Changes

X-STREAM process gas analyzers now incorporate the manufacturer’s IntrinzX intrinsically linear photometric technology to provide high-sensitivity, large dynamic ranges, and long-term span stability. IntrinzX uses split-cell dual-beam photometry and constant comparison of the reference signal and the measurement signal to achieve an intrinsically linear response to changes in concentration. This enables sensitivity as low as 0–10 ppm, span drift of less than 0.5% per week, and dynamic ranges as large as 0–200 to 0–50,000 ppm. The analyzers feature extended ambient temperature ranges for all geographic areas, and an alphanumeric display with clear text messages available in multiple languages. They use Rosemount Analytical infrared, ultraviolet and visible photometry, paramagnetic and electrochemical oxygen and thermal conductivity sensor technologies. Four available configurations include: the half-19-in.-rack-mountable or tabletop compact general version; the 19-in.-rack-mountable or tabletop compact general version; the field housing NEMA 4X/IP66 version that can be purged, pressurized or made non-incendive for installation in hazardous areas; and the flameproof version that can be installed in Class I, Zone 1, Group IIB and H2 hazardous areas.

Many Levels of Protection Keep Filter Bags Clean

Specifically designed to achieve the purity requirements of the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries, CLEARGAF filter bags are FDA-compliant as per the 21CFR177 standard, and EC-compliant as per the 90/128/EEC standard. They are manufactured under special conditions to ensure they contain no contamination. Single packaging in protective plastic keeps bags free from contamination during shipping, storage and installation, and special warehousing facilities provide protection during storage. The bags are made of low-migration media, which minimizes the amount of foreign substances that are introduced to contained fluids. The manufacturer’s Sentinel ring bag seals, combined with the bags’ all-welded construction, eliminate fluid bypass that can occur through needle holes in felt and multi-layer bags.

Storm Track Insight Aids in Hurricane Tracking

Every day at 12:00 a.m. GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), and at other intervals thereafter, the U.S. National Weather Service releases the Global Forecast System’s (GFS) 00Z track forecast for existing named tropical systems in the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Basin. Using this information, Tropical MarketFirst can predict 12Z (12:00 p.m. GMT) hurricane tracks and release the data up to two hours before they would normally be released to the public. The system also allows users to compare the 12Z forecast with observed data coming in from the 00Z and 06Z tracks. Predictions are accessible to users via a secure password-protected website. Each forecast track predicts a storm’s path out to 16 days or until landfall is expected, and a cone of uncertainty is displayed surrounding each forecasted track.

These Safety Glasses Fit Smaller, Narrower Faces

Since one-size-fits-all usually leaves out a few people, the smaller StarLite-SM safety eyewear has been specially designed for smaller, narrower faces. This version is 10% smaller than the classic StarLite models, but still provides exceptional impact protection, durability, superior optical quality, and a fashionable design. Its scratch-resistant polycarbonate lenses, which are available in clear, gray, clear anti-fog, and mirror finish, filter out more than 99.9% of harmful UV-A and UV-B rays. For a proper fit, safety glasses must touch the face at the nose bridge and behind each ear, and rest firmly on top of the nose and close to, without touching, the face itself. With appropriate size and comfort, the eyewear will be less of an irritation to users, leaving them more likely to be able to wear the eye protection for longer periods of time.
