Flowmeter Takes Simultaneous Measurements
The Optiswirl 4070 variable-area flowmeter has two separate measurement valves and converters, giving it the high accuracy needed for pipeline applications that require simultaneous measurement of two different substances. This all-in-one flowmeter delivers precise measurements of standard volumetric and mass flow of conductive and non-conductive liquids, gases and vapors, even in applications that are prone to pressure and temperature fluctuations. Its non-wearing, fully welded stainless steel structure is highly resistant to corrosion, high pressures and high temperatures. Designed for optimum process reliability, the Optiswirl 4070 features an intelligent signal-processing system (ISP) that allows for stable flow readings while eliminating external perturbations. In addition to a sturdy vortex sensor structure, the flowmeter includes a built-in temperature transducer and an optional pressure sensor with available isolation valve within its plug-and-play design.

Versatile Multimeter Takes Accurate Measurements
The 8808A digital multimeter features 5.5-digit resolution, multifunction measurement capability and a dual-display that enables users to measure two different but related parameters simultaneously. It has six dedicated setup buttons on the front panel that function as pre-sets, making it fast and easy for operators to quickly follow a test procedure without having to push multiple buttons. A hi/lo limit comparison mode with pass/fail indicators can help take the guesswork out of testing and eliminate production mistakes. With measurement functions including volts, ohms, amps and frequency, the 8808A also provides the performance and flexibility required from a bench meter in R&D, development and service applications. The multimeter has a basic d.c. voltage accuracy of 0.01% and features dedicated d.c. low-current-leakage measurement capability. It uses a high impedance input measurement circuit to take sensitive low-current measurements of less than 2,000 µA with a resolution of up to 100 nA, without loading the circuit under test. The 2 × 4 ohms function of the Fluke 8808A uses patented split terminal jacks that allow users to perform 4-wire measurements using only two leads instead of four. The optional 2 × 4 wire test leads make precise 4-wire low-ohms measurements possible on miniature surface-mount components.

Compact Console Meets Process Visibility Needs
The MiniConsole is a low-height, one-size-fits-anywhere console system for situations where process visibility is essential to production. Its compact design provides a clear line-of-sight of the process, and features an ergonomically angled display and keyboard for a standing operator’s comfort. The MiniConsole is optimal for multi-plant deployment projects where site surveys are impractical. It mounts to a short post that can be installed directly onto the plant floor. Alternatively, the MiniConsole is available in a mobile configuration with the post mounted on casters, allowing the operator to take the interface directly to the process. Four display sizes (21.3-in., 19.1-in., 17.1-in. and 15.1-in.) are available and can be configured with resistive, infrared or surface acoustic wave (SAW) touchscreen technologies. PC options include an internal micro PC (easily accessible by lifting open the display enclosure), a small-form-factor PC in a protective local enclosure, or an internal KVM extender allowing the user to connect to a remote PC up to 3,000 ft away. The MiniConsole is available in NEMA 4X stainless steel for washdown and wipedown environments, and NEMA 4/12 painted aluminum/steel for general industrial use.

Lenses Feature Anti-fog and Anti-Scratch Coatings
The Dura-streme dual lens-coating technology brings together anti-fog and anti-scratch coatings onto a single lens. The Ultra-dura anti-scratch coating protects the outside of the lens, providing premium scratch and chemical resistance, while the Uvextreme anti-fog coating on the interior of the lens keeps vision clear in environments where humidity and physical exertion are typical. Both coatings are permanently bonded to the lens for performance that lasts even after repeated routine cleanings.

Injection-Capable Resin Reinforces Sheet Molding and Pultrusion Applications
The Dion 31616-00/31100-00 is made from low-styrene nano-composite and carbon-fiber-compatible, impact-resistant, toughened urethane hybrid resin. Designed for high-strength structural and impact-resistant fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) applications in the sheet molding compounds (SMC) and pultrusion markets, the resin was developed to allow end-users to simultaneously achieve the excellent flexibility and toughness of polyurethanes, combined with the high strength, stiffness, and temperature resistance of unsaturated polyesters. Compared to vinyl esters, this material has substantially better impact properties. Unlike polyurethanes, the material can be processed in an SMC sheet, and it has excellent pigmentability and faster processing capabilities in pultrusion. Because the resin is compatible with nano-materials, it is possible to develop engineered nano-composite FRP laminates that have significantly higher static mechanical properties and dynamic impact properties than polyurethane, vinyl ester and polyester systems. The resin’s compatibility with carbon fiber allows for the design of high-performance composite laminates, which can replace traditional laminate materials. Low both in viscosity and styrene content, the resin is injection-capable.

Gas-flow Control Valve Automates Chemical Feed Processes
The Series 70CV3000 Chloromatic 3000 gas-flow control valve is a wall-mounted system designed for automatic control of chemical feed in water or wastewater applications. The integrated, microprocessor-based controller has a control valve that responds to multiple process signals from a water flow transmitter or chlorine residual analyzer. The Chloromatic 3000 eliminates the need for continuous operator monitoring and manual adjustment of the gas feed rate resulting from changes in flow and/or residual levels. Automating the chemical feed process typically leads to a reduction in gas consumption for water and wastewater utilities, since manual feed rates are based on peak process conditions. The Chloromatic 3000 is field-configurable for flow proportioning, residual, compound-loop or feed-forward control. While it features ten range capacities from 10 to 3,000 lb/d (up to 60 kg/h) for chlorine, it is also suitable for use with sulfur dioxide, ammonia and carbon dioxide. The system comes standard with an 11-step calibration of the valve plug that yields a true gas flow retransmission signal and eliminates the need for a separate linearized D/P transmitter. The Chloromatic 3000 is used in conjunction with a vacuum regulator, gas flowmeter and an ejector to provide a complete disinfection system.

Program Extends Lives of Reusable Bulk Containers
The PlusT Clean and Repair program allows companies to extend the life of broken reusable bulk containers that would otherwise be relegated to the scrap yard or stored on valuable floor space. By putting broken units back to work, customers save on the cost of purchasing new containers. The program is simple and cost-effective. Containers are inspected and sorted based on whether they can or cannot be repaired. Close attention is paid to structural integrity and other safety factors that may render a container unsafe or not repairable. Typical inspection points include broken doors, latches, holes and cracks. Each repaired container is then again physically inspected for complete and safe reusability, cleaned, and prepared for shipment back to the customer. Customers are only charged for containers that are repaired and returned in a condition suitable for continued use. Unusable plastic containers are ground down and unrepairable metal containers are properly disposed of by the company.

Rugged Pumps Operate in Extreme Temperatures
Cardinal pumps meet extreme temperature requirements and are rated for continuous duty operating temperature ranges from –40ºF to 212ºF. The pumps are capable of permitting thermosiphon flow when the pump is not operating, thus allowing natural convection even when the pump is off. A rugged split-casing design with heavy-duty class 30 cast iron is used for the pump casting, motor enclosures, impellers and volutes. Large thrust-face-sleeve bearings also extend life, minimize wear and reduce maintenance. With two gasket seals on each pump instead of mechanical seals, repair and upkeep is reduced. The pump’s design allows transformer oil to flow back through the motor and bearings, thereby providing cooling and lubrication. All Cardinal pump and motor units are subjected to extensive testing, including pressure tests to 50 psig to ensure the integrity of the complete unit.
