Tough Electromagnetic Flowmeters Are Accurate

Representing state-of-the-art accurate flow measurement in water cycle and process applications, Extended Linearity (EL) 2200 Series electromagnetic flowmeters create unique electromagnetic field profiles to ensure accuracy in turbulent, transitional and laminar flow regimes. Without using linearization software, the meters can provide extended linearity and a measurement range of up to 1000:1. Featuring the ability to measure bi-directional flow, the EL 2200 series has no moving parts and no pressure drop. Based on the Faraday Principle, in which a conductor generates a potential by crossing a magnetic field, the potential is directly proportional to the flow velocity. The meters use a Type 304 stainless-steel flow tube with carbon or stainless flanges. Their sealed electrode and coil assembly provide immunity to humidity variation. A pair of Hastelloy C 22 electrodes generate the magnetic field, while a third functions as a ground. For one- to six-in. meter sizes, the meter uses PTFE as standard liner material. Larger sizes use Ebonite. Flange and sensor exterior surfaces are coated with acrylic paint, providing excellent resistance to water.

Protect Against Failure with These Indicator Alarms

Available in various sizes and with up to eight channels in a single NEMA 4X enclosure, the Series 684 indicator alarm module is an economical solution to the issue of machine shutdown protection, as increased vibration levels portend potential failure. Directly interfacing with ICP piezoelectric or 4–20-mA sensors, the system is universally-powered and provides appropriate excitation voltages. Each indicator channel contains upwards of four form C relays for alarm and shutdown control. In addition to time delay options, the system features push-button programmable settings that ease set-up and prevent false alarms. The front of each unit has indicator lights that display relay status. The meters integrate acceleration signals, and display the units in acceleration, velocity or displacement. Positioned on the front of each module, BNC connections access raw vibration signals for easy interface with data collection equipment. The system can retransmit a signal for straightforward interface with existing PLC, DCS and SCADA systems.

Temperature Sensor Installs in Any Thermowell

Suitable for both new and retrofit applications, WORM Flexible Sensors replace restrictive straight sensor probes with a universal sensor strategy. Designed to be rugged and flexible, these patented sensors are capable of bending around and through the top or face of an enclosure. This eliminates the straight-sensor installation step requiring the removal of parts of the transmitter enclosure. External temperature effects do not affect this sensor, as the temperature assembly keeps the spring-loaded WORM shielded and in place. Its step response times are 13% faster than the standard, straight sensors. These sensors are available with a variety of RTDs and thermocouples, including 100 and 1,000 ohm, platinum, copper, nickel RTDs, and J- and K-type thermocouples.

3-in-1 Solids Handling System Accepts Many Feeds

Designed to regulate the flow of material into the screener, the Kason 3-in-1 System combines a Vibroscreen vibratory screener, a batch hopper and an integral feed control device. Consisting of a circular disc positioned below the flexible connector at the screener’s inlet, the feed control device is perpendicular to the flow of material. The disc’s diameter is smaller than the inside diameter of the inlet. This forms an annular gap through which materials pass. The flow of material remains uniform as the disc vibrates with the screener lid to which it is affixed. Achieving variable feed rates is possible using interchangeable discs available in a range of diameters. Suspended by springs, the screening assembly freely vibrates, minimizes power consumption, and prevents vibration transmission to the floor. Beneath the assembly is an imbalanced-weight, gyratory motor that creates multi-plane inertial vibration for the purpose of controlling the flow path of material on screen surfaces, and maximizing the rate at which material passes through the screen. Intended for applications that require screening in batches, screeners are available with the feed control device range in diameters from 18 to 40 in. Offered with single or multiple screening decks, they separate particles in one to five predetermined sizes, from 2-in. to 500 mesh. The screeners are constructed of stainless steel to 3-A, cGMP, USDA, FDA or industrial standards.

These Versatile Belt Conveyors Require Little Maintenance

With load capacities up to 500-lb and speeds up to 375 ft/m, Flextrac plastic chain belt conveyors can be adapted to almost any application, including material handling and manufacturing. Standard-sized conveyors go up to 30 ft. in length, but customized models can be designed to 100 ft. All features are contained within a low 2.41-in. profile throughout, except at the drive end with 3.03-in. Widths of 4–24 in. are available, as are many side profile options for product containment. The conveyors function virtually maintenance free, using Lube-for-Life Bearings with a permanent micro-poly lubricant eliminating the need to periodically lubricate bearings. Many belts are available, including flush grid or flat top styles. Belt styles vary from low-cost polypropylene and polyethylene with an anti-microbial additive, to a super-high-temperature composite. Specialty belts are also available, including roller-top belts for accumulation, high-friction belts, and nub-top belts for easy product release

Container Monitors Temperature of Sensitive Materials During Transport

Suitable for use in applications involving blood products, plasma, biologicals, specimens and vaccines, the Trans-Vue containers are available for 6_C, 8_C and 10_C transport. It features a nonreversible indicator that changes from white to red when the safe temperature of the temperature-sensitive materials has been reached or exceeded. Because a red indicator cannot change back to white, this feature allows laboratories to determine if temperature standards and regulations were maintained during transport.

Versatile Ultrafiltration Cassettes are Cost-Effective

T-Series membrane cassettes are constructed with high-performance materials that reduce extractables to deliver high-purity biological solutions. Reducing the amount of rinsing volumes required prior to cassette use, this feature saves time and material cots. The cassettes assure effective mass transfer of proteins, which is critical for biotech manufacturers given their significant cost. High-yield Omega membranes and a polypropylene screen increase processing flux rates and product recovery. The cassette has deep notches to assist fitting into holders. Its rigid encapsulation material reduces over-torquing issues that compress membrane channels and impede product flow. Cassettes are available in fully scalable formats and are offered in four sizes: 200 cm2; 0.1 m2; 0.5 m2; and 2.5 m2. The two smaller-sized cassettes are available in the Minimate II single-use format module.

Workers Can Breathe Easier Using This Downdraft-Bench Dust Collector

Designed for applications where workers need an integrated collection area and work surface, the SDB downdraft-bench dust collector features a powerful downdraft velocity of 100 ft/m and air volumes up to 2,500 ft3/m. The SDB captures smoke, dust and powders that result from manufacturing operations including grinding and polishing. By drawing particles and contaminants away from the worker’s breathing zone, the SDB protects employees and helps manufacturers to comply with OSHA regulations. The SDB has an 80-in. by 55-in. grated work surface capable of accommodating loads of up to 75 lb/ft2. Hinged side wings open to accommodate larger work pieces and uniform air distribution maintains superior dust control over the whole work area. The system automatically self-cleans when pulses of compressed air dislodge dust from the filters upon shutdown. High capacity, lightweight dust drawers allow for longer periods of uninterrupted operation before they must be emptied. No tools are required for manual inspection or emptying or changing filters and collection drawers. Its pressure gauge indicates when filters require replacement. The system is fully-assembled prior to delivery, and has a powder-coated finish to prevent fading, chalking and corrosion. Its simple installation requires only an electrical collection and compressed air for in-place cleaning. The collector features a 3-hp motor and 230–460/3/60 voltage.
